What happened to the frog in Ginyu's body?

Is it still just hopping around? Because I like to think it's doing okay.

If we go by Super, then it's got Tagoma in it now and he's stuck there forever.

Hell, I'd be impressed if he didn't get killed during the fight by all the energy being tossed around.

Edit: Wow. I'm dumb. You were talking about the frog in Ginyu's body, not the frog body Ginyu used to have.

We I re-call the anime showed that it was moved with the big take everyone off Namek except Goku and Frieza wish (which it would have fallen under), so I can't say.

Probably just died or something.

Heh, it'd be funny if Frog Tagoma passed by Ginyu Frog, freaked out at the big hopping alien.

EDIT: According to this article, the DBS manga will jump ahead of the anime soon, and Toy's gonna be putting more of his own input which will influence the anime.

That interview was a nice read. I can feel Toyotaro's passion for the franchise.

Canon, round and round she goes, where she stops, no one knows.

In manga form, Dragon Ball Super runs on plotlines and oversight provided by Toriyama himself, but the artwork comes from Toyotarou, a manga creator who started off drawing Dragon Ball because he was a big fan.

Hmm.

Every month, I'll create a storyboard for him to review, and then he'll give me input and suggest changes. When I'm working with Toriyama, there are many portions he gives me props for coming up with, but he is very particular about other things and always points them out for me to correct. And when he corrects me, I think “Wow, I guess I don't completely understand the way he looks at things,” so his corrections and feedback are incredibly accurate and helpful. It's a lot of fun to be able to get closer to his way of thinking.

What I receive from Toriyama is literally words on paper, without drawings or anything. So when I'm reading it, I have to fill in the blanks as far as the specifics are concerned. I think of what kinds of expressions the characters wear, which way they're looking when they say a certain line. Many times, Toriyama-sensei doesn't give me specific feedback on the details that I fill in, so I put a lot of thought into those aspects, knowing that my interpretation is what the readers will see.

I would love to have Toriyama just sit next to me so I could ask him questions all the time, but unfortunately, I can't!

What is your relationship with the Dragonball Super anime? At this point, I'm not very involved with it. I think going forward, I'll be more involved, but at this point in time, I actually receive more information from the anime team than I give to them. The anime is a little bit further along than I am, but in the near future I'll be ahead, so the information will be going back to them. Regardless, we'll continue to support one another as we go forward.

Interesting.

First of all, to be honest, I'm surprised that he's okay with someone like me carrying on his work! The other thing…I thought Toriyama would be more particular about the story, but he's actually more particular about the gags and the comedic moments! I can tell that he really loves those parts.

Toriyama sounds like such a dude.

[tup]

Who is your favorite character in Dragonball? Goku! And he's still number one.

So that's why Vegeta gets the short stick in Super. Bias!

The Pilaf gang! They're small and I can move them around as I want, and their comedic expressions are really fun to draw!

They're not even in the manga that much from what I read. Which is one of the things I praise the manga for because they don't even serve the purpose of making Call-Back's to the original Dragonball/the early Dragonball years.

Fundamentally, I don't deviate from the major plotlines that Toriyama's laid down. As far as the plot getting from A to B, that's written as Toriyama it lays down. But as far as the details between those plot points, I'm free to fill them in myself. The Trunks arc within Dragon Ball Super will hit the U.S. soon, and while a certain reveal is the same in the manga, anime, and Toriyama's outline, both the anime and manga have different ways of getting there, each taking advantage of the unique aspects of their medium, so I hope everyone enjoys comparing them. The parts I really want my fans and readers to look at are the comedic gags, because I'm pretty free to create those!

Also interesting.

In the upcoming Trunks storyline, there's a part where Trunks' tutor explains a certain important part of the story…and I can't go into more detail. So keep an eye out for that!

Isn't Supreme Kai KIA in the manga? Or is this a new character?

Ginyu being alive after Buu will never not be weird to me in light of Toriyama's statement that Tao and Shen did not come back. So an assassin and a martial arts jerk are "truly evil" but the second in command of Genocide Inc. isn't?

"Less of a backstabbing dick" was good enough to let Vegeta come back.

If we flip history around, Goku and Vegeta were two rogue mutant members of an alien species so dangerous Freeza needed to exterminate them. When that failed said mutants intercepted Ginyu's boss, attacked, humiliated, and murdered most of his men, and proceeded to imprison him in a useless body and leave him for dead.

We have to assume that just because Ginyu is working for a genocidal tyrant Ginyu himself was a bad person?

Does anybody else think that Supreme Kai showing up to the Zamasus vs Saiyans fight is a really stupid idea? He's a liability. If he gets hit by so much as a stray blast, then he's dead, which means that Beerus and Whis are gone too.

To be fair, Supreme Kai never had the best sense of self preservation. It's pretty much a character trait .

Though the idea to go there was Gowasu's.

A little late on it, but reading the interview with Toyotaro (sp) on how Toriyama cares more about the jokes (and considers them more important) makes me wonder what Dragon Ball would have been like if he hadn't moved move more toward action.

I'm just like, if he seems to prefer the humour in the long run, you kinda wonder why he shifted into action to such a degree.

Then I remember that he was just doing whatever, and I know the answer. It worked out damned well I'll admit.

In fact, I can't even answer my own question because I can't say that the series would have been better off as just comedy.

[up][up]

But most fights in Dragon Ball are somewhat drawn out curb stomps.

Sure, on occasion, it's up in the air who'd win or fighters are dead even (Piccolo vs 17, where unless 17 made some kind of mistake and gave Piccolo an opening, he'd have won, but there were pretty much dead locked), but most of the time the higher power level has already won, and everything else is just a formality.
