That thing about Koyama and Broly is...kind of true, but kind of not. He admits Beerus is stronger than Broly, but doesn't seem to particularly like it.

Only, from the impression I got of the character on the screen, Broli was scarier, no contest. Am I the only one who found that Broli looked overwhelmingly frightening? Or am I just biased towards my own creation?

So I wouldn't discount him being a Broly fanboy.

(the whole thing's here)

I mean, he has a point; what looks scarier, a giant raging psychopath who'll slaughter everything around him for the fun of it, or a giant purple cat who'd rather eat delicious food than kill anyone with malicious intent?

Well, Beerus not looking scary is kinda the point.

That's Toriyama's thing: the most fearsome and powerful dudes don't actually look scary (at first).

I mean, remember Buu at the start.

It almost makes them scarier, in a way. That you know they could turn evil and try to kill you, but you don't know when or how.

Heck, 17 and 18 looked completely ordinary and they slaughtered the Z-Fighters in Trunks' Future.

And Frieza? His first form is a shrimp who rides around in a hover chair...and who is fully capable of casually nuking your whole planet.

Ok, who let Light Yagami in here?

The closest to a straight up creepy design for a villain Toriyama made was every form of Cell. Doesn't hurt that Cell is introduced right in the middle of a damn slaughter.

King Piccolo was pretty monstrous too. At the time his and Kami's designs were atypical of the series and looked eerie in comparison to everything else, which makes sense with Piccolo being originally otherworldly.

Yeah, but King Piccolo was introduced as a shriveled up old geezer. A bit creepy, yeah, but he looked frail. Then he kicked Goku's ass.

Since DBF is coming westward this winter, I started doing math on how many possible fusions there are in the game. First off, I have to point out that there's 171 unique, non-fused characters in the game including your CAC. Since the character roster is 1013 with EX fusions, it's all about subtracting. I'm also gonna exclude character slot 001 for reasons I'll later explain.

1013 - 172 = 841 EX fusions

Out of the 841 EX fusions, 48 of them are fusions of the main cast, 4 are the QR code fusions, and 789 are fusions of the game's original characters. But those are only fusions on the character roster, there's a ton more than just that. The game also has 10 metamoran fusions that characters can transform into mid-battle, and also 9 unique Maxi-Fusions based on the initiator's race and gender. Plus, the CAC has 170 EX fusions with the rest of the game's non-fused cast, though you can only use one at a time and it takes up your CAC's character slot 000.

Speaking of taking up a slot, let's look at character slot 001. As I previously stated, 001 is for arbitrary streetpass fusions, and like the CAC's EX fusions, you can only use one a at a time. What sets streetpass fusions apart from normal EX fusions is that you can fuse any of the 170 characters with no restrictions, which can lead to some crazy stuff. But another interesting thing is that two characters can have two different streetpass fusions! For example:

Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta (KF Vegeta Version)

Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta (KF Goku Version)

So to figure out how many combinations there are, you got to multiply 170 by itself, then subtract 170 to exclude fusions of the same character (they'd look the same no matter what) and then multiply the result by 2. Now add that result with the aformentioned 841 EX fusions, 10 metamoran fusions, 9 Maxi-Fusions and 170 CAC fusions.

(((170 * 170) -170) * 2) + 841 + 10 + 9 + 170 = 58,490 possible fusions

Since you can customize everyone's movesets and you can only have 1 CAC and 1 streetpass fusion at a time, everyone's roster is gonna be pretty unique. I wonder how that's gonna be balanced for PVP...

King Piccolo was introduced as an old man. An absolutely humongous old man who was supremely confident in his absolute power and was spoken of in hushed and terrified tones by everyone who knew him.

Roshi was an old man, and that didn't stop him from kicking all sorts of ass.

But then again, they do underestimate him from first appearances.

Beerus is an anorexic Sphynx who just lounges around all day, while Broly looks like roided out berserker ready to kick some skulls around.

Really, I have to force myself to be intimidated in any way by Beerus, while Broly gets that job done in a much more direct manner.

And that's not even getting into their personalities, which is just another strike against Beerus and his supposed "intimidation" factor.

Really? Broly looks and functions like a balloon. His muscles literally look like they're inflated with air, and if you can pierce his skin, it's an insta-kill. He just fucking pops. Beerus at least looks like an Egyptian god.

I think him looking like a balloon is a bit of an exaggeration. Roided meathead, sure.

In any case, I know that if I had a gun to my head, and was forced to spend one day in a dark room with either Broly or Beerus, just based on appearance alone, I'd choose Beerus.

Beerus might actually be one of the least intimidating Dragon Ball villains out there. Heck, even Mercenary Tao elicits more of a feeling of "seriousness" than Beerus.

I can't ever take Broly seriously, because every time I see him, I imagine poking him with a pin, and his muscles deflating, rocketing him all around with that stupid deflating balloon sound. He looks like you could just attach a string to his foot and he'd float around behind you, bouncing back and forth with the slightest breeze.

Broly just looks silly to me. Beerus' incredibly short temper and his tendency to go straight from 'friend' to 'murderer' at the drop of a hat makes him WAY scarier than someone who's just a villain. It's why Zeno-Sama scares the shit out of me: he's got an even shorter temper than Beerus, he's even stronger than Beerus, and he's even more willing to murder for little to no reason. It's their unpredictableness that makes them truly scary.
