The best line was "he's going to destroy Vegeta!"
"...My son, the planet, or me?"
The very best, like no one ever was. Check out my Spider-Man fanfic here! [1]So on a different topic, what are your guys favorite arcs for both Dragon Ball and DBZ? For me, those would be:
Dragon Ball: The Red Ribbon Army arc. By which I mean the whole saga, not just one specific arc out of the three that it was split into. This one just really entertained me for multiple different reasons, the action was entertaining despite not being up to the level of DBZ, and a lot of the comedy was great. I also particularly liked the funny stuff involving Commander Red, and I thought the twist about his true wish was hilarious in a petty kind of way. Also, say what you will about the rest of the RRA officers, but General Blue was awesome {Even though the anime kind of turned him into a pedophile} and I liked Colonel Silver and Colonel Violet too {In the anime, at least}.
Dragon Ball Z: The Frieza arc {Again, I mean the whole thing overall and not just one of the 3 arcs it was split into}. To me, this was the high point of DBZ. Lots of awesome fight scenes, some pretty cool villains {Frieza especially}, etc. If the whole series had ended with this arc, I would have probably been fine with that {Not that I have much against the Cell and Majinn Bu arcs, I just didn't like them as much as this one}.
And yes, I notice that both of my favorite arcs of the whole franchise involve Goku and company going up against huge evil organizations.

For Dragon Ball, it's really tough to choose. I guess it be a toss up between Red Ribbon and King Piccolo with 22nd Tournament coming in close behind. I guess I'd also choose Red Ribbon simply because of the great variety of characters. Anime Colonel Silver and Violet were pretty awesome, and no one can ever forget Tao. There's just so much variety in the action in the RR Arc that I kinda have to choose it, even if the story and drama of King Piccolo were better.
For Dragon Ball Z...Cell. It can only be Cell. I fully recognize why so many hate it ("how the hell did some random never mentioned before human invent machines stronger than a Super Saiyan?!") but I don't care about that. If Goku can be an alien from space, some scientist can make super cyborgs. Also this was more or less Gohan's time to finally shine and I prefer him to Adult Goku as The Hero.
Did the watching paint dry Saga come with the lost 5 box set because I don't remember that one.
I haven't read or watched the original Dragon Ball, so my favorite saga of Z era is Buu saga.
Favorite movie is movie 7, and "favorite" GT saga, for what it's worth, is Shadow Dragon.
Watching Paint Dry Saga is pretty good, though. Was not expecting the villain of it.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Oooh, people are talking about their fave sagas/movies? I'll bite!
Dragon Ball: My overall favorite is the King Piccolo saga. Of all of the sagas in DB, it's the one that most resembles a saga from Dragon Ball Z. I also like the very first saga and the saga where Master Roshi first trained Goku and Krillin.
Dragon Ball Z: The Saiyan saga is my favorite. Probably my favorite after that is the Majin Buu saga, because it feels more like a combination between the more lighthearted parts of DB with more of the action of DBZ. I was honestly surprised to learn that people don't seem to like this saga very much. I thought it was a refreshing change of pace from the Frieza and Cell sagas. Because I'm one of those weird people who actually likes filler sometimes when it gives some of the Put on a Bus characters some exposure, I also like the Garlic Jr. saga a little.
Fave movies: I liked The Return of Cooler and The Path to Power.
Dragon Ball GT: Don't remember much of this show, and therefore can not name a favorite arc. However, I did like the final ep for showing a montage of when everyone met Goku for the first time. That was nice.
And I must make a special mention for the notorious ep in DBZ where Chichi made Goku and Piccolo take a driver's test to get a car. That was just funny.
Do not obey in advance.Favorite Dragon Ball Arc: The King Piccolo - This set the tone for the majority of what we would see in Z. Tense, dramatic, full of twists and great battles.
Favorite Z Arc; The Buu Arc. So wacky, funny, spectacular battles once again (With Super Saiyan 2 Goku vs Majin Vegeta stealing the show), significant character development (Mr Satan, Majin Boo and Vegeta) and most of all... A HUMAN CHARACTER WAS ACTUALLY USEFUL IN WINNING A MAJOR BATTLE (There's no denying Mr Satan's Popularity Power in the end proved to be so vital in saving the Universe.)
I would also like to take this opportunity to start a new topic:
What-if
Let gets the ball rolling with arguably the biggest What-If in all of Dragon Ball:
- What if Krillin actually killed Vegeta in the Saiyan Arc?

Dragonball Multiverse is doing it as we speak.

One Strip! One Strip!....
That would require Namek to have more living things on it.
Goku never thought of taking energy from people at that point (thought Krillin, Gohan and Piccolo did so anyway) so it would require more living plant life and animals on Namek, which there was apparently a dearth of.
That being said, if Goku never went Super-Saiyan....the Androids would have done a Mexican-Hat dance on all their skulls.
One Strip! One Strip!Wasn't the reason that the Namek Spirit bomb was so huge because he was drawing energy from more than just living beings? I swear he drew power from "The grass, the Sea, the Sky" and Namek's sun.
My various fanfics. And it didn't really work.
Maybe if he'd done that along with all the living things on Namek, it might have stopped Frieza(though a Spirit Bomb that big might have destroyed the planet before Frieza had a chance to).
One Strip! One Strip! If the fight before the spirit bomb had gone differently it's possible that it would have finished him off. For example Frieza could have stayed in a lower power level which might have made him weak enough to be killed.
If it did then the immediate effects would probably be that Vegeta and the Namekians stayed dead since they have no reason to revive them to transport people off world. Later on the androids would massacre everyone since no one is strong enough to stop them. No Super Saiyan Goku means Gohan probably wouldn't have gone Super Saiyan and would get killed by the Androids. Without Vegeta there also wouldn't be a Trunks so there wouldn't be someone to go back in time and warn them.
Another possibility is Cold figuring out his son is dead and having him go there to get revenge. He might not be as strong as Frieza but I doubt base form Goku could have handled him.

I doubt Goku and the gang would just LEAVE Namek a BARREN WASTELAND. Once they got home, they'd probably wish for everyone killed by Frieza back to life.
My various fanfics. Here's a What If scenario that's popped in my head a couple times: What if Goku had actually been on Planet Vegeta when it was destroyed and thus died instead of ending up on earth? I think that Pilaf would possibly get all 7 Dragon Balls and take over the world, only for the Red Ribbon Army to later show up, curb-stomp him and take over two years later with Commander Black leading them {Due to Commander Red wishing to be taller once they unleash Shenron, and then probably getting killed by his own men for wasting their time and resources on such a selfish and petty wish}, but then Frieza would eventually find out about Earth's existence and then take over the planet himself after wiping out everyone there. So yeah, that would have sucked for pretty much everyone except Frieza.

Then Dabra and Babidi show up on Earth and take Buu's egg. Eventually, Dabra would kill Kaioshin and Kibito, and Buu would be released (but then again, even if he's not, it's not like anyone can stop Dabra himself). Babidi would probably become the galactic emperor, in that case.
If you count the EU:
Cooler kills Freeza and Cold and declares himself emperor.
Beers shows up. He finds that Freeza is already dead, then just goes back to doing his job. He may or may not kill Cooler, if Cooler is still around by then. May or may not also kill Babidi, Dabra, and Fat Buu (assuming the latter doesn't kill the former two).

I liked the filler flashback with how he planned to stop Frieza from taking his son.
Also loved how abridged Vegeta asked Frieza "how did you know about the parts you weren't there for?"
And Frieza's expression in response. CMOF for me.
