Is good thing that Karrot didn't lose his Godly-ness for Veggie's turn at the ritual.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Gohan losing the mystic power up makes so much sense, I'm annoyed Toriyama didn't think of it.
As for whether Arha was being sarcastic or not, I'm pretty sure nearly everything he says is sarcasm and snark of some sort.
Then again, one day I'll probably pay as well. It's the internet. We've all said some things we deserve to get our asses kicked over.
One Strip! One Strip!I just realized, Dragon Ball Heroes still hasn't added Ozotto (Base, Super), Onio (Base, SSJ), Honey, Android 8, Nam, Bacterian, Shen, Orlen, Raspberry, Frieza (Full Armored Mecha, Majin, Hyper, Villainous, Atrocious), Cell (Majin, Hyper Perfect, Villainous, Atrocious), Broly (Villainous, Atrocious, Time Breaker), Time Breaker Janemba, Time Breaker Appule (Base, Giant), Ledgic, Goku Jr (Base, SSJ), Vegeta Jr (Base, SSJ), Ms. Buu, Cell-X (Imperfect, Semiperfect, Perfect), Cell-X Jr, Churai, Naraka (Base, Great Namek), Elite Saibamen, Cyborg Tao-X, Android 9, Android 8000, Android 19000, DBO Future Warrior (Base, SSJ), XV Future Warrior (Base, SSJ, SSJ2), XV2 Future Warrior (Base, SSJ, SSJ2, SSJ3), Cloke, Hakusa, Reso, Amura, Imai, Ziko, Goma, Percel, Kate, Harry, Captain Taino, Thirith, Ukatz, Iaas, Pima, Mefla, Umiu, Kid Chi-Chi, Adult Chi-Chi (Base, Angered), Vegeta (Villainous, Atrocious), Atrocious Gohan, Atrocious Gotenks, Atrocious TP Trunks, Atrocious Kid Buu, Bongo, General Gamelan, Tekka, Pinich, EX Gogeta, EX Gotenks, Prilin (Base, EX), Tiencha (Base, Skinny, EX), Natz, Karoly, Gorilin, Krigohan, Pandel, Gokuhan, Vegenks, Majin Satan, Cellza, Great Captain Ginyuman, Towale, Brapan, Yamgeta, Beerwhis, Great Saiyaman 12, Tekku, Chibamen, Mibura, Guidoome, Trunco the Future Patrolman, Maxi-Fusion, etc....

Quite a few of those are just alternates anyway.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.@IANCE Gohan willingly giving up his power so that Goku could go SSG or retain that power would definitely be a good way to depower him (as opposed to handwaving/not addressing it). Like you said, it's totally something he would do, and it makes the decision really meaningful
@Goten/Trunks being passed the torch: I wouldn't count that as passing the torch from a mets sense. Even when they were being prepared to fight Boo, there was a B plot still ongoing (Gohan preparing to fight Boo). From a meta point they were always playing the role of the Piccolo/Vegeta mid arc fighter who fights the villain while the protagonist is still preparing. It's like Chekovs Gun.
Even in-universe, Goku didn't treat it like he had passed the torch. He showed an intention to do so, but this was treated more like the trial/preparation for such an event. He acted like he was exploring the possibility.
Whereas with Gohan's fight, there was no B plot running at the time. So it feels more inline with a final battle than the mid arc encounters from before (especially with Gotenks also filling that role). I think that's part of what makes the transition back to Goku so jarring, because Goku was dead and sitting on his ass when it was time for him to step up again.
Dammit Saiga! Stop saying things I agree with! How can I de-pope you if I actually think you deserve the title?
You're ruining everything! Everything everywhere!
But yes, pretty much
to everything you said. Boy, I bet if someone bothered to plan things out, we could have avoided this. Now excuse me while I go beat this dead horse.
We like it whenever we don't talk about Gohan :V
I do agree him giving up his power for his dad would have been a good way to send him off, especially since you could see it as giving back what his dad gave him. And its definitely I could accept as a reasonable to the character's arc and time in the spotlight.
Someone brought up that Goku's Blood Knight personality of always wanting to fight as his primary goal leaves him rather aimless as a character, beyond simply wanting to fight people. Its pretty apparent in the current arc too since Vegeta actually wants to beat Black for hurting his family whereas Goku is just "He looks strong, I wanna fight" but I bet money that its going to be Goku who wins in the end.
This was fine in Dragon Ball where he actually was not the strongest like he is now, and when the series still had a "Journey to the West" vibe to it. Even in Z it was fine because Goku himself was Out of Focus and only showed up at the arc's climax.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Karrot doesn't even want to be the strongest anymore...
But that's the theme of the whole series: directionless, knows what it wants, but the want will never end...greed fuels the drive.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Well I'm saying there's kind of no pathos; its different when Goku was fighting Nappa, Raditz, Frieza or Buu because while he was partially motivated just to fight for the sake of it, he also knew very well that they were dangerous people that needed to be stopped.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. There's also that whole "Gohan has the potential to be the strongest being in the universe, and WAS, twice," thing. It was an incredibly important part of his character. Basically every time he fought, they hit you over the head with it. You couldn't really ignore it. And if a character has that kind of potential, you'd expect his arc to end with him finally using the full extent of that potential.
Which it did. Twice. And then the story didn't end. And then Goku and Vegeta found a way to get even stronger. And if Goku and Vegeta can get that strong, it's logical to assume Gohan's potential can account for that power, as well.
Regardless of what people say, Gohan realising his potential was one of the biggest parts of his character arc. Super kind of removed it, with no real reason why other than "we don't want Gohan to be an important character".
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!Yes it was an honorable sacrifice, we're all very proud of Gohand.
Except not all of us, only the people who care...and even then, possibly not all of them either.

Whatever, I always wanted a special showing the Nameless Namek growing up, travelling the world and getting corrupted by it (I always imagine young Kami drinking and gambling in casinos and it kills me), and going on a quest to become God, splitting into good and evil, and Roshi, Shen, and Mutaito's battle against King Piccolo's army. I also always wanted an official special showing Kid Buu's massacre of the Kaioshin.

He killed 3 people...that doesn't really make for special material.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.A TV special of Kid Buu's fight with the Kaioshin would just be a fight that only realistically lasted a couple of minutes stretched for half an hour.
There isn't a plot to follow like there was with the Bardock, Father of Goku special. Bibidi found a way to get there, found a way to get Buu there, and promptly released Buu on them. Either that, or the Kaioshin deliberately brought him there in an attempt to get Buu away from places where he could deal more damage and where they could fight in their home turf, only to have hilariously poor results.
And Buu killed them very, very quickly.
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimari

Well now, that doesn't make much sense...unless you mean, turning SSJ caused him to lose Ultimate/Mystic?
