There's nothing confirming or denying who was stronger between the two in the epilogue; what we do know is that Gohan was bounds stronger than Goku when they were fighting Kid Buu.
Yea, its easy to assume Gohan fell behind, but that's only because later materials made that more apparent. When Z ended, there was nothing to suggest that he slacked off. Its as much your own fan opinion that he slacked off as it is to say that he was still stronger than Goku in the end.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Complaining that Gohan keeps getting his ass kicked pointlessly is complaining about something that happened TWO ARCS AGO. That's like complaining that Piccolo needs to stop merging with people in Battle of Gods because he did it in the Cell Saga. It's no longer relevant, and hasn't been relevant for a while.
I'm glad you guys are saying all this stuff about Gohan, so I don't have to.
It's all Super and RF's fault, really. If you go straight from Battle of Gods to Ep 52, there's a clear connection to his character there. The movie ends with his wife pregnant, and the episode features him happy with his wife and daughter. But then RF happens, Gohan gets weaker, Gohan gets his ass kicked, the Earth blows up, and Super makes that a driving point for Gohan to start training again. And then that subplot seems to go absolutely nowhere.
It just makes you wonder why they bothered expanding Gohan's role in Super's version of RF, when they knew they were probably going to make this episode eventually. Unless Gohan actually IS going to show up later in the arc and this entire episode was just a red herring. Which I really doubt.

The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!Maybe Toriyama put his foot down and said No! Gohan sucks now! Keep him out of my Goku time!
Or maybe not. Who knows?
There's nothing much to say about Gohan that hasn't already been said. He grew from a normal kid to a warrior who surpassed his father. We were asked to believe in him as the main character, asked to invest in him, and when we did, we were suddenly told that no, he's actually not important, and we're bringing back the old main character.
As someone else put it, maybe if Toriyama had decided to just have Gohan bash Raditz's ribs in and end it there, it might have been better, but he kept pushing, building up, and had it culminate in the Cell Saga. Then he continued to push Gohan as the hero in Buu, until he realized, after committing himself rather deeply to this path, that he actually didn't want Gohan as the hero.
So if y'all will excuse me for beating that dead horse one more time (though I wouldn't blame you if you didn't cause I'm sure you are all sick of me saying this):
THIS IS WHY YOU PLAN SHIT OUT AHEAD OF TIME!!!
So yeah. Nothing much more to say. I will add that seeing Gohan live peacefully is nice, even if it's soured by how hard the narrative is trying to push him out of the spotlight. Spotlight that's only on him because the creator put it there, then yanked it away after having it on him for so long.
One Strip! One Strip!![]()

No? Why would I get mad an internet discussion? Like, honestly if discussion about a fictional character bothers you so much (and I don't know why it should) just to another part of the forum or change the subject.
Complaining about discussion....on a discussion board seems...odd to me.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I'm happy about Gohan. When you look at all the suffering he was put trough (all his friends and his mentor died when he was, like, 3, he was brutalized multiple times, he had to see his father dies like twice and stuff), finally living out a life he wants is rewarding enough, heh.

Yes, Gohan was stronger after Buu was killed, ten years ago. Gohan was the strongest during the Cell Games and he fell behind because he slacked off. Going by history, I saw no reason why Gohan wouldn't slack off again, especially with daddy being back. Although, I though Gohan would maintain his strength this time.
And to turn it back, it was your and others fan opinion for years that Gohan remained the strongest at EOZ, despite Gohan's history of not training during times of peace.
Okay, my two cents on Gohan.
To me he was boring ever since he stopped being the guy who beat people up when he got angry, when Cell had to drag out the process rather than "Kurinin's hurt? Raaah"!
The only thing interesting about him after that was Gohan's huge power level.
After that it wasn't about what was interesting about Gohan than the things about Gohan that had the potential to be interesting. I thought seeing him balance school life with being a super hero would be cool. I thought him and Videl teaming up to be superheroes later would be cool.
I was always prepared for Gohan not being one of the "main" fighters anymore because between Goku, Goten, Trunks and Pan(and maybe Bra, and maybe Gotenks still shows up) that's too many saiyans as is(the only non saiyans before Beerus/Whis with main fighter potential at that point were Uub and Buu, which are technically two offshoots of the same creature. I know people call Crane Hermit an Ass Pull but imagine if the only people who could fight were all trained by Roshi, that's what the saiyans were staring to look like). Though there is one saiyan I'd drop before Gohan and most of you know which one.
Buldogue's lawyerWell this has certainly been informative. I never knew there was such a collective apathy boner towards Gohan, color me genuinely surprised.
Disagree with every single one of you, but that's life. I just always assumed he was like the 3rd most popular character or something, after Goku and Vegeta. Next I'm going to learn no one ever liked Piccolo.

He actually was pretty popular...then the recent media started treating him like shit, so you got people torn between those who hate what's happened. Those who think it makes sense, and those who genuinely don't give a fuck either way.
Its funny how people claim how boring he was, but merely mentioning him seems to trigger people every where on the Internet nowadays. I won't lie, its kind of surprising for me too. Not because I ever thought Gohan was hated, but I didn't think people cared about him enough to cause this massive shitstorm with him.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.

Super Saiyan 3 is still Goku's power like all the Super Saiyan forms. And Gohan was leap and bounds ahead of Goku during the Cell Games because he was a Super Saiyan 2. Goku caught up and surpassed Gohan even without Super Saiyan 3 and he did in seven years because Goku never stopped training and Gohan slacked off. So it isn't hard to believe that the same thing happened in the span of ten years.
