Honestly, with Future Trunks coming back to the past once again, I'd say the movies being alternate timelines becomes more and more possible.
Maybe someone in the far future has been altering things even before Trunks first started messing with stuff.
We all know the gods (Skot, Eastern Supreme Kai, Beerus, etc) don't keep track of this shit, so it's not impossible.
I still think it's possible that Trunks has created the GT timeline by his presence in the past...or it was the timeline where he didn't come back. We can only guess.
One Strip! One Strip! As I posted on another thread, looking at the Xenoverse trailer, I am kinda annoyed that we're getting Lord Slug who is just an expy of King Piccolo, and not a very good one. Yet, we can't get King Piccolo, who would be a million times better.
Also, GT really can't work as a different timeline in Super. The biggest reason, Hell in Super works nothing like Hell in GT. Frieza would be stuck to a tree with all his power taking, not walking around and being allowed to train. And Gero wouldn't have the material to build a copy of Android 17, (where did he get the material for that anyway?) How Hell works shouldn't be effective by timelines. Which naturally effects several movies, like movie 11 and 12.
And the characters in Super made more wishes on the Dragon Balls compared to their GT counterparts who only used the Earth's Dragon Balls once over ten years and that was enough to create the Shadow Dragons. I mean, Bulma used the Dragon Balls as a bingo prize.

Good point.
Perhaps GT is a timeline where Beerus never even woke up in the first place, thereby preventing those wishes from being made.
I already theorized that there might have been other people using a similar form of Time Travel to Trunks who changed things without him knowing (similar to Cell).
Maybe the way they ran Hell is one way things happened.
But yeah, you're probably right that it's all bullshit.
One Strip! One Strip!I could buy that the events of GT happened because Beerus never came to Earth (annoying the plot holes about how Pilaf knew about the Black Star Dragon Balls and other oddities), therefore everyone is overall weaker and the existence of Super Saiyan 4. However, that only works for the Baby Saga. Super 17 and The Shadow Dragons Saga can't work for the reasons I named.
Except all the wishes that made the Shadow Dragons are wishes that were all made without any input from stuff that would have involved Beerus existing. Hell, even discounting the two wishes that have stuff to do with Battle of Gods, there's still at least 5 wishes that weren't used to make a Dragon.
Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!Beers not showing up means Carrot just waits for Oob like intended too...and then GT happens later.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. The Baby Saga doesn't relate to Hell or the Shadow Dragons. In fact, GT could have ended with the Baby Saga with no consequences, and Super 17 and Shadow Dragons could have happened without the events of the Baby Saga outside of Super Saiyan 4 and Piccolo being dead.
Which is why I said that the Baby Saga could have been an event that happened if Beerus never came to Earth in the Super timeline, therefor all those wishes they made in Super wouldn't have happened (except Pilaf wishing for youth and the whole bingo thing).
Super 17, couldn't happened. Shadow Dragon, couldn't because the cast made more wishes than GT and no Shadow Dragons popped out.
Again, no Shadow Dragons popped out because it was restricted to seven of them, one for each Dragon Ball; there were a lot more than seven wishes made on those Balls, even discounting the material made 2012 onward, but only seven of those got used.

Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!Oh, I see what you mean. Was it every said it was restricted to seven?
Also, another thing I always had with the whole Shadow Dragon thing, is if the Dragon Balls were only supposed to be used every 100 years to allow the negative energy to leave, then why didn't the Namekians make it so that the Dragon Balls turn to stone for 100 years to ensure that they can't be abuse, and shouldn't Denda of all people know when the Dragon Balls were reaching their limit? And why the original Dragon Balls on Namek allowed to be used at any time since all the elders guard them instead of going through a Dragon Ball hunt?
Well again, there's seven Dragon Balls, and there were seven Dragons with each one holding a Dragon Ball inside their body; unless the Dragon Balls either split into pieces or cloned themselves somehow, there could only feasibly be seven Shadow Dragons.
Well for one, the original set was made by Kami, back when he had no idea he was a Namekian, or even what that was; he probably wasn't aware of that side effect. For the Namekians themselves, there's no real information of them ever having used the Dragon Balls themselves, at least before the stuff past Battle of Gods was made; plus, Dende was born after the Dragon Balls were created by Porunga, so it's unlikely he'd even know about the side effect, perhaps even more so than Kami.

Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!That would be common sense, but this is GT we're talking about. They also coyly made sure we didn't know how all the Shadow Dragons were created. Syn was created from the wish to revived all of Frieza's victims. Nova was King Piccolo's wish for youth. The female Shadow Dragon, forgot her name, was created by Oolong's underwear wish. The others, we don't know.
As an end boss for the franchise, the Shadow Dragons are nearly perfect. The cast have to fight the Dragon Balls themselves, which were the Earth's greatest hope, and have to answer for abusing wishes and cheating death. How it was executed…very poor. Then again, that is GT in a nutshell.
Kami, I can understand, but why wouldn't Denda know. He was born and raise as Namekian and part of the Dragon Clan by the Grand Elder, the last original Namek. He would know better than anyone what abusing the Dragon Balls means. The Namekians also have no problem letting people use the Dragon Balls as long as their friends or have good intention. They never said, we can't let you use the Dragon Balls because it builds too much negative energy.

Except we do know what wishes made the other dragons; Haze was made from the wish to revive Bora, Rage was made by the wish to revive Goku after he died in the fight with Raditz, Oceanus from the panty thing, Naturon was made from the wish to revive the people killed by Majin Vegeta, Nuova was created from the wish that gave King Piccolo his youth back, Eis was the wish that made everyone on Earth besides the Z Fighters forget about Majin Buu and his past deeds, and Syn was the wish that revived everyone who had been killed by Frieza and his henchmen during the preceding year.
Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!If GT and/or the movies turn out to be alternate timelines, I'd be fun for someone from one of those turn up and reference that as an actual plot point, if only for humor's sake.
Like, in a future tournament, we have a team composed of Future Trunks, Kid Trunks, GT Trunks, Time Patrol Trunks and, I dunno, the Kid Trunks that got Tapion's sword.

If only the movies...that beast could've easily taken out the android...Cyborg threat.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. Was that said in the actual show or in a guidebook, because I know the three I named were said in GT. But it has been years since I've seen GT so I could have forgot.
You're right about wishes being missing. Like the wish to revived everyone killed by King Piccolo and his children, the wish to revived all of Cell's victims, the wish to get rid of the bombs in Androids 17 and 18, and the wish to revived everyone killed before Majin Buu.
All of the dragons revealed teh wishes dat created them.
Namek balls couldn't do mass revives yet.

Broly wasn't portrayed as such in Xenoverse 1.
