Blackarrot
Nah, that's not what he was going for. He very specifically says Earth will be doomed... if Goku avoids it. The destruction of Earth would only happen if it hit Earth directly, but if it hit Goku then it would have just killed him and Vegeta wins.
Which is still a gamble, as Goku could realize that taking the blast will just lead to humanity's destruction by Vegeta's hand anyway and that dodging would get Vegeta killed as well, but Vegeta was definitely banking on Goku not having it in him to make that decision.
Because this thread decides to wait until I'm busy with stuff to move fast! I had to stay up until 12:30 to catch up on this.
In summary: I agree wholeheartedly with unnoun's stance on Mai and Trunks (of either timeline).
I don't think that it's comparable at all to Goku/Chichi and Vegeta/Bulma - the more at least was part of a really funny gag and gave us Gohan/Goten, the latter gave us Trunks/Trunks and many memorable moments down the line. Neither are useless. Point on 18/Kuririn tho
edit: Something I have found really cool, the tournament winners for the Xenoverse 1 World Tournament have had their characters drawn in a piece of official art for one of the Xenoverse 2 downloadable wallpapers
. Would've loved to be one of them.

Also, who knows what the hell the Dragon Balls do to the menstrual cycle.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! Why is Trunks studying with Pilaf. Why is that a thing.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Can their teacher inexplicably be Monster Rabbit? Or Android 9, the cyborg Commander Red? "Getting shot sucked, but I got cybernetics that let me extend my height now so I gave up on world domination. Gero seemed to take it really hard, though. Hope he learned to channel his disappointment into something constructive, like art."
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Ok, so I can buy Pan being able to fly already and stuff. Based off the fact that kids seem to inherit some of their parent's strength at the time of conception in the DB verse. BUT HOW WERE THEY BREATHING?
Even if they weren't entirely outside the atmosphere despite it looking like it, the air would be entirely too thin for any of the four to survive. Apparently everyone can breathe in space now in the DB verse. -facepalm-
Yes, I know minor thing to get worked up over, but they keep telling us the main characters need to breath, but then they keep showing us stuff to the contrary.
Click Click Boom BoomWe've known this ever since Boss Rabbit.
Maybe they weren't too far into space that there was still oxygen? I dunno. This has been a thing people have been debating since 2013. I doubt anyone's going to give an answer, so...people can kinda breathe in space now. I guess.
It almost feels like the Mai in this arc was supposed to be some new female character but then they remembered Battle of Gods and shoved Mai in there instead. It'd explain why both versions of the character seem to be getting involved. If they were actually around Trunks's age, they'd be the right age in both timelines.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!I think there was actually a videogame that explored Babidi and Buu surfacing in Future Trunks' world. Never played it though, so I don't know what the story is.
Disregarding that, my personal theory is that they came to Earth, retrieved Buu's ball, and took it elsewhere because in the wake of the Androids' devastation, there wasn't enough energy around for them to revive Buu.

Just thought of something:
Since Shenron can apparently determine good and evil according to the wisher's definition, do you think it's possible for Shenron to alter someone's personality? What if Goku had wished for Freeza to be a good person so they could spar together, or Vegeta, or potentially blank slates like Buu or Cell?
