- Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo are all available.
- Future Trunks is around.
- Gohan is a Super Siayan.
To expand on this, this is also one of the points that had the series at its highest popularity (the other being the end of the Freeza arc). The Freeza arc was generally more popular due to Freeza and the final battle, but the appeal in the Android arc was in its ensemble cast. Piccolo gets his own fusion, everyone's a Super Saiyan, and it's easier to ignore the imbalance in power compared to the Freeza arc.
So when you're dealing with anything with a group cast, this becomes the go-to cast due to the perceived balance in power (these five are usually portrayed as mostly equal, despite having clear differences in the manga - Piccolo/Vegeta/Trunks far below Goku & Goku far below Gohan).
This "ensemble cast" feel is also why this is was used so much in promotional art for the early 90's. That's where a lot of the really fucking cool promotional artwork comes from, which then feeds into feelings of nostalgia and popularity for this era.
Though the Boo arc and Saiyan/Namek arcs do also get their share of the cool art.
Here's a tumblr that collects the art with the same 80s - 90s style
. Awww yeah.
The old promotional artwork was so damn cool. I was thinking "why does Super do stuff like this?" And then I remembered Super doesn't have a proper ensemble cast. There's plenty of Goku/Vegeta artwork, but not much else.
Also something to do with Tadayoshi Yamamuro or something

The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!Watching the latest episode: Cabba taking the same stance Vegeta did and firing a Gallick Gun was pretty cool. Far as I can tell, Vegeta did exactly the same thing with Cabba that Goku does with Uub, except Vegeta says that he'll destroy Cabba's entire planet and kill everyone on it. Vegeta and Cabba being even in base and then even as Super Saiyans basically Josses the whole 'decreasing multiplier' theory 100%. Looks like it is, and always will be, a 50x increase. Yamcha says things throughout the episode, so it's cool that he continues to exist. Vegeta shows Cabba Super Saiyan Blue, then one-shots him. I can't understand Japanese, but someone in the comments who apparently can says that Vegeta promises to train Cabba after the tournament.
New end credits trying to play to my nostalgia by having Goku with Nyoi-bo and Kinto-un. New end credits succeeds. Next episode preview shows Hit punking Vegeta in Super Saiyan Blue.

That's a heck of a lotta artwork!!
...and something that's not Dragon Ball related for some reason.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. My current theory about how Goku and Vegeta work at the moment: they basically have four forms, base, base with Godly Ki (call it Saiyan Beyond God if you wish), Super Saiyan 1, and Super Saiyan Blue. Saiyan Beyond God and Super Saiyan 1 are interchangeable in terms of power and are both intermediary steps to Super Saiyan Blue. Base + SS1 + Godly Ki = Super Saiyan Blue, just as much as Base + Godly Ki + SS1 = Super Saiyan Blue.
My currently theoretical Power Levels (divided by 1 billion for sanity):
Beerus: 10,000
Champa: 9,000
Whis: 15,000
Vados: 17,000
Goku and Vegeta: 3.2
Goku and Vegeta (SS1 or Godly Ki): 160
Goku and Vegeta (SSB): 8,000
Mr. Buu: 20
Piccolo: 50
Botamo: 0.5 (immune to damage)
Frost (1st): 2.8
Frost (Assault): 4.2
Frost (Final): 84
Magetta (full power): 200
Magetta (red aura charge): 400
Cabba: 3
Cabba (SS1): 150
Hit: anywhere from 8,500-20,000
for context, characters from DBZ:
100% Freeza: 0.12
Super Perfect Cell: 6.3
Kid Buu: 30
SS1 Vegetto: 250

Wouldn't that add up to Super Saiyan Blue being a 2500 times boost? I don't think it'd be possible for Super Saiyan Blue to only be 6.25x stronger than Super Saiyan 3, simply because of how massive the difference in power was between Super Saiyan 3 Goku and Beerus was. >.>
Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!Obviously Base Goku currently is WAY stronger than he was during the Buu Saga due to retaining Super Saiyan God's power, Whis' training, an indeterminate amount of time in Godly HTC, and 3 years with Vegeta in the normal HTC. Beginning of Super Goku and Vegeta would be 90,000,000; a 0.09 on my scale above.

Even when God Goku is only a 6 to Beerus' 10, and according to Super Goku didn't even make him use 10% of his power? Doesn't help that Super has pretty much stated that Super Saiyan Blue is actually stronger than Super Saiyan God, and not just as strong as it.

...you are aware that if Goku's base is a 0.09 on your scale, then in order for it to get to 6000, or 60% of Beerus' 10,000, Super Saiyan God would need to be over 66,000 times base in order to work.

Super did not, in fact, say that.
It is a huge increase, though Super Saiyan God is not a set multiplier and works in mysterious ways. Goku retained the power from Super Saiyan God, putting his base at 2,400,000,000 in order for Godly Ki + Super Saiyan 1 to equal Super Saiyan God. Goku got stronger from there and absorbed more Godly Ki from the Godly HTC, turning his Super Saiyan a lovely shade of blue.
