Well, the thing is, they do seem to be dropping the other forms now.
Gohan got the Mystic form, Goku and Vegeta have god forms, Gotenks mostly uses regular super saiyan or three.
And didn't Toriyama say Goku started training in regular super saiyan anyway? Or something along those lines. I can't quite recall.
It feels like(as with so many things in this series) it was introduced only for the author to decide he was no longer interested in it.
One Strip! One Strip! As a sometimes irate fan who wants things his way, I can acknowledge that is the case.

One Strip! One Strip!...
Not sure really. Never thought of that. My issue has mostly been that I wish he was a little bit more sure of what he was going to do, rather than throwing ideas at the wall and seeing what stick, so that he doesn't just toss it out the window later.
One Strip! One Strip! And if using Kaio-ken on top of SSJ really is that effective, Goku would've done it against Cell.
Super Saiyan is a 50x power multiplier. Super Saiyan 2 is 100x, twice as powerful as Super Saiyan. The base Kaioken, meanwhile, is x2.
However, outside one of Toei's filler arcs, there's no indication that it's actually possible to combine the Kaioken and Super Saiyan forms. Given the immense strain on the body that the Kaioken performs, even if a Super Saiyan Kaioken could be performed, there is every possibility that Goku would promptly implode.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.![]()
Goku going Super Saiyan for the first time, Vegito running with Buu's energy ball and punting it like a football, using a spirit bomb made up of the energy of everyone on Earth to defeat Buu.
Things like that. Sure, some of those things are part of the things I think lead to the problems I have with the series, but I can't help but like them for what they are, and wouldn't want to lose them. There are probably others that I'm not thinking of either.
One Strip! One Strip! Then again, when publishers say "appeal to a broader demographic", what they really mean is "appeal to more 12 year old boys", so it's not so much "they soften it because they want a broader audience" and more "they soften it because they want more of the same audience".
Publishers being unable to see what's staring them right in the face is even worse in Japan than it is in the USA.
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariWell, him being an impatient jerk who cheats is barely more interesting than what the anime did making him a real Bitch in Sheep's Clothing. In fact, I really don't see the point of why he entered the tournament anyway if there was literally nothing in it for him and why he even bothered to cheat to win when he could have lost and went home early. Honestly, him being impatient because there was no prize money opens up a few questions. The anime actually gives him real motives. He wants Champa's support to hide his business and he gets a crap load of money out of it.
But I do agree that almost everyone in the manga has an extra layer of jerk like Champa and Vados being more evil, while they're more neutral in the anime.
I was really worried they'd kill off Frost since that'd waste potential of a Villain with Good Publicity Freeza and the relation to Universe 6(I'd like the idea of U6 Cold being the good Freeza race). But Hit knocked him out, so its fine. Also, good job for not making Hit an immediate villain. The idea of him being a mercenary means he could be a Hitman with a Heart, or aa morally ambiguous character. I believe in alignment Cabba and Magetta's good, Frost's evil, Botama's a douche and Hit's an anti-hero.
I was also pleasantly surprised at Magetta not being wtfowned by Vegeta. He's actually competent and an interesting fight. I believe that either Magetta will win(thus giving Universe 6 their first legit win), or wear Vegeta down so Cabba beats him. Here's what I want to happen:
- Vegeta vs Magetta: Vegeta actually loses. Beerus argues that since Frost was left off the hook, he should be permitted to bend the rules and let Buu enter
- Buu vs Magetta: Buu wins because Magetta exhausts himself over trying to beat Buu
- Buu vs Cabba: Cabba reveals that in Universe 6, they have a different transformation on the same level as Super Saiyan God. Maybe their Super Mode is some sort of ape transformation(an actual one, since Great Apes have tails which apes don't have). Either way, Cabba beats him
- Goku vs Cabba: Goku wins this one.
- Goku vs Hit: Hit beats Goku
- Monaka vs Hit: A crazy-epic battle occurs. Monaka can have some awesomly-ridicolous transformation, like a muscular giant that still has the silly nipples and head.
Upcoming episode summaries confirm that Vegeta's going to beat Magetta and fight Cabba.
I was a little surprised at Hit having an older, middle-aged sort of voice, but I do like the particular seiyuu who's voicing him so the surprise was a pleasant one.
My Megaman and MegaTen RPG LiveblogsDo we... do we not have any statute for not talking about these prior to release?
Or has it been discussed so frequently no one cares that much? I mean, I know Super's been under a lot of heat, but still, there is some suspense, right?
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I agree with not wanting to remove any Super Saiyan forms. The ideas I see to make it work usually just seem to create a bunch of problems and provide no other benefit.
I like Super Saiyan 3 as the final form for that line of Super Saiyan because it shows how far you can take the form. It's absurdly powerful but also really inefficient and it's easy to see that as the final form simply because taking it any further would just mean the energy drain would become too impractical.
It also makes things like Gohan not using the Super Saiyan forms more important when the energy drain becomes more pronounced.
Super Saiyan 3 also cranks up the ridiculousness factor on the aesthetics of the Super Saiyan transformation.
It really does look like an exaggerated parody of the original super saiyan at first glance, and it's also hilariously the form most often parodied.

That comment wasn't meant for you, it was a general trend I've seen with the usual "drop the other Super Saiyan form" discussions I see often elsewhere.
