I'll be frank, I never saw what was supposed to be so great about Krillin's and 18's relationship to begin with. It always came off as people being happy that he was happy than the relationship actually being good. Which I guess goes back to her being a reward for him or whatever.
I mean, people have been saying TFS have been handling the relationship much better but all they did was through in a bunch of lines about how hot Krillin finds her calling dibs and have her call him cute twice.
The actual, "Krillin realizes he's in love (for some reason)" moment, is played basically the same and really has no more basis there than it does in the show proper.
Well, that's one minor reason. Which is nice but mostly it comes down to, "She called me cute and I think I can get in that."
Which isn't necessarily bad in itself, but it's hardly much better than the source. Even then, the whole bit from the original, about him wanting her to be happy and removing the bomb from her chest was a nice touch.
But my main point is there really hasn't been anything to establish him being in love with her, in either version, other than he just is. Being attracted makes sense, the love comes from basically nowhere.

Why show them fighting bank robbers and crap when you can have world shaking battles with much higher stakes.
Why comics and movies where Batman fights the Joker or Spider-Man fights Green Goblin usually sell much better than those with Superman fighting alien tyrants? Although, point, by now the DBZ fandom is so fixated with world destroying fights any less won't fly with them anymore.
Also, IANCE, power levels don't equal a need or lack thereof for secret identities. Superman is almost omnipotent in his own universe and yet he also needs his Clark Kent, just so he can be himself at times. That isn't a concern for the Saiyans because they always stay out of the public eye when not in tournaments, but Videl has more of a public profile and probably doesn't want to attract even more attention and hassle than she already gets as Mr. Satan's daughter.
Thing is, to Videl, media attention is nothing new - it'd basically be little more than the attention she already gets. Remember: She is already a famous vigilante in her own right.
And in the case of her family wanting privacy... It shouldn't be too difficult if she can move faster than anyone can track her - she can just do her heroics and then fly away at speeds invisible to the naked eye. She lives in a ridiculously remote location that's apparently five hours away by plane from the closest bit of civilization.
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariI'd imagine an in-universe reason is the same reason as Gohan's reason for not caring much about fighting...they'd rather be boring, "normies" and take care of their daughter than be badass fighters.
Well let's be real, the women in Dragon Ball are bit players at best sadly, Bulma is the only one who avoids this and just barely at that.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.So I just thought of something:
17 and 18 can't sense Ki (though maybe that's changed for 18, as I recall she could sense Tarble's Ki in the special so Krillin might have taught it to her during the 7 year downtime).
It's implied that fighter track each-others movements by sensing each other's energy in addition to watching each other's movements. 17 and 18 can't do this, but they don't need to, and not just because they are so powerful few could stand up to them anyway.
Gero apparently programmed them with a lot of knowledge about Goku and friends. With the obvious exceptions of Super Saiyan and a few personal tidbits (like the location of Goku's home) they already knew how the Z warriors fought, so they could probably predict their movements perfectly, or at least that's my assumption. Hell, maybe Gero made it so that their brains can process information fast enough to automatically calculate the position of a super fast fighter.
Also, was it ever stated if 17 and 18 still need to breath? I recall the former gulping in air during a break in his fight with Piccolo (just before Cell showed up) which is odd for someone who never gets tired, but never getting tired might not be the same of not running out of breath.
One Strip! One Strip!Makes sense. So if they fight a strong enough opponent, they might still need to catch their breath.
One Strip! One Strip!...like, did Chi-Chi and 18 ever talk about this? I mean, I guess they were out of the house for awhile, so it could've been bandits but... if the wife of an old family friend had robbed my house in some miscellaneous quest to assassinate my husband, I'd want my stolen belongings back.
I just miss the tails. I mean, Saiyans came from the same planet, just, in this universe, they didn't have to move, and there wasn't a Frieza. We see that Frost's race has transformations similar to Frieza's.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I don't think the androids actually stole anything, they just wrecked the place.
Which, in the scale of things that people have done to her family, probably ranks pretty low in Chichi's scale.
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariShe may have been planning to take stuff, but didn't like any of Chi-chi's clothes, so she just left it.
At least that was my impression.
One Strip! One Strip!

Because human stuff is irrelevant.
Why show them fighting bank robbers and crap when you can have world shaking battles with much higher stakes.
Though that stuff could still work for Slice of life type situations, even if superheroing isn't exactly the slice of life kind of scenario.
