For me, a voice has to be really terrible for me to dislike it. I also in no position to say how good or bad a Japanese voice actually is since I don't know any Japanese outside of some words so they might as well be talking gibberish like Animal Crossing to me. With the dub, I can hear and know all the things they're saying so I can be more critical.
I take that point of view as well. Which is why a lot of people who go on about how original Japanese versions are always so much better rings hollow to me.
There are some shit dubs sure, but the things is, it's much easier to tell what's shit when you can actually understand what the people are saying.

Unless of course it's a Gag Dub, like that one ghost anime Funimation dubbed.
Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!Why is Vegeta always crushing his scouters?
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!I think the most awkward moment that happened to me is when I was watching subs of One Piece and went online and found out that one of the main character's voices got replaced, medical leave. People were complaining about how crappy the replacement was and I didn't even noticed the change at all. For some reason, almost all woman Japanese voices sound about the same to me. Which sounds really bad.
Honestly, the only voice in Kai I have any major grip with is kid Gohan's voice. This is most likely because I am an One Piece fan, but Gohan sounds too much like Luffy for me to take seriously, especially her kid Goku voice which really is Luffy's dub voice. Which is very disappointed since Colleen Clinkenbeard is very talented, so why does her Gohan and Goku sound like Luffy? Even more weird, her Badass Gohan when he's Super Saiyan 2 is kind of lackluster. She does play vulnerable and helpless Gohan better than Stephanie Nadolny, but everything else….yeah. But again, it's probably not a problem if you don't watch One Piece.
You're right, it's a complete non-issue if you don't.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. To me, Freeza has always had an extremely manly voice. Gerardo Reyero does not sound even remotely feminine in any way, shape or form. So I find cranky library lady Freeza weird.
Also, in the Latin dub, Buu wasn't retarded, but that's beside the point.
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariLinda Young is alright as Freeza, I guess. The dub just made her say a lot of stupid stuff. But Ayres is much better.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!Yeah, that's also true. A decent script would make her much more tolerable... but she's still not a match for Freeza's character. Her other roles are fine.
I just caught up on Super today. Welp, they've really gone and put the final nail in the coffin of the "true" Makankosappo. Not a fan of that, I don't like them fudging continuity just to stick with what is iconic. Of course because the two handed blast wasn't named, it can just be rationalized that the pose never changes even if having two arms helps in the charging somehow. Still, I'm not a fan of ignoring that. The two-handed Makankosappo was one of the cool Easter Eggs of the manga and I'd hope if the technique was ever brought up again we'd see the two-handed version be confirmed. Too bad, that ship has sailed and then been bombed the fuck out of.
That said, if you can ignore all those suggestions about the two-handed Makankosappo (and Super clearly has no trouble doing that) the fight itself was entertaining. Since nobody remarked on Piccolo improving a great deal, I guess Super is treating Goku like he can still fight at roughly his Boo arc level with base/Super Saiyan, or he can choose to fight at a much higher level in "Saiyan Beyond God" / Super Saiyan Blue. Base Goku here certainly didn't seem anywhere near as powerful as he was in the F arc and didn't have a fancy aura. I guess the other possibility is if Goku only has the one super strong base, and Super Saiyan is between that and Blue, then Frost has just taken a massive amount of damage to be reduced to a level closer to Piccolo. I don't think that's very likely though.
Either way, the fight itself was entertaining. In the end, Piccolo just got RF-Vegeta'd by losing a match that looked like he had under control, which wasn't surprising at all. I was just catching up on a forum on Kanzenshuu, and seeing all the people assume Piccolo had won before this episode due to fake titles was hilarious. The backlash that happened was perversely satisfying.
At this rate, Vegeta is almost certainly going to win at least two matches and leave the last two for Monaka. He didn't really need that, and it'd be funny if he lost to Frost because he deserves it for pressuring one of his teammates to drop and allowing their disqualified opponent to stay in, all to appease his ego - that's almost Majin Vegeta or letting Cell absorb 18 levels of screwing things up for the protagonists. If this time he's rewarded for it, well... that's pretty shitty. I mean Vegeta's character development should have put him beyond that role, but that should mean he doesn't make these kind of bone-headed decisions in the first place, not that he starts getting rewarded for awful behaviour.
Also, I have to say the anime versions of both of Goku's battles sucked. Which is amazing, since the manga came first and had less time to work with. But they someone managed to cut out material from both fights without adding anything worthwhile into the longer anime versions. Just terrible.
I have to say that episodes 28 and 29 were enjoyable, this arc had a good start. It's just lost steam with the actual tournament.
You're building up all that energy from one arm, at a weaker level...don't you suppose it would be harder to do that?
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. It might have helped if Toriyama had named it.
Toei wouldn't be so willing to ignore it if he called out the name back then.
I find it strange he didn't bother to specify that there is a two handed version with them.
There's also the possibility that he's retconned there being a two handed version completely.
One Strip! One Strip!

You know what?
I don't have a problem with any of the voices. But that's because my dub shielding is pretty strong, and even ridiculously high japanese voices rarely faze me.
This proves that I rule and you all suck.
Deal with it.
Though I do admit they probably should have given Goku an adult voice after a while. The man child thing went on a bit too long.
