Right. I should know better than to bring up this conversation again. It only ever goes in one direction.
Well, we know Goku is ridiculously strong, so that's not a surprise.
Like I said, things would likely be different if it was Krillin who lost a few first round matches instead of Yamcha every time, but that's not how things went.
One Strip! One Strip!I don't think any character was treated particularly bad either. If Yamcha was written to always lose at the last minute....well shit there you go. If Vegeta was written to get worf'd almost every fight, that's it.
If the fans want to take it from there and go hyperbole...then its their prerogative.

I guess you got a point.
It wouldn't the first time the fans ran with their own interpretation, whether it's based on canon or not.
I do wish Toriyama had given Yamcha more victories however. Maybe then people wouldn't flat out love mocking him so much.
One Strip! One Strip!People mock and exaggerate everything. Like Goku being a bad father. Krillin dying all the time. Tien being super badass.

More than 2 victories - More than 1 that was a actual finished fight - A victory that didn't require any help

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Yamcha had one major fight in Z (important, as many haven't watched/read Dragon Ball). It was against a low level mook and, not counting the films, the absolute weakest villain in Z. And he lost. Later his girlfriend dumped him, his dreams were crushed, he died along with everyone else Buu didn't like, and, according to GT, he eventually just ran away to live in the desert again. He does get one bone thrown to him by beating Recoome, but even counting this, it was a pointless training fight against someone Goku already beat.
And people really don't exaggerate about Goku being a bad a father; he puts fighting above the safety of his kids and is shown numerous times to not care about their safety if it gets in the way of what he wants. He's gone so far as to make them clean up his mess. Toriyama himself said Goku was a bad father.
Tenshinhan though... I don't think he really did anything. I'm surprised the fandom hasn't made a joke about him being super bland.
They're not exaggerating about Krillin's deaths either. Dude dies five times... six times if you count Future Krillin (getting his neck broken by Tambourine, blown up by Freeza, blasted by the future androids, turned into stone by Dabra, turned into chocolate by Buu, and beamed to death by 17 in GT). Which, any way you look at it, is a lot.
Usually though, I find Vegeta easiest to mock.

Technically, that would only be 3....5(if you actually do count the future events)

Toriyama has never said Goku is bad father, you're just pulling rumors out of the air. Goku has saved his family many times. I'll admit his priorities can get skewered at times but he does care for his family's safety and is willing to admit when he's screwed up as a father. That's more than what can be said about a certain other saiyan father...

Incorrect: that's like saying I'm a dragon. You can't call me a dragon for the same reason you can't say that Yamcha vs Recoome is non-canon: it doesn't exist. Dragon Ball HAS no canon. Plus, I specified that most wouldn't count it when I said "even if you count this".
So decent that he sold his soul to the devil and released a god eating monster that killed his kid, all because he wanted to be the strongest guy around.
"Goku isn’t interested in child-rearing, probably. He’s completely unqualified to be a father. (laughs) He doesn’t even have a job. Goku wants nothing other than to get stronger, and it feels like he doesn’t have any other instincts. So he shows absolutely no interest in things he’s not interested in. I’d bet he wouldn’t have had any interest in marriage, either."
Also, I assume Toriyama is a functioning human being who knows what a bad dad is.
Quit downplaying the fact that he gives zero shits about his kids' safety if it gets him entertainment.
Cell going to beat my kid to death? Here Cell, have a senzu!
"Vegeta said he was going to blow up the planet? And there's nothing I can do to stop him? Meh, let him go. I wanna fight him later, this is an acceptable risk."
"Buu killed half of humanity already, including my son? Let my other son fight him, I don't feel like it."
"Buu just got way weaker and dumber, and is now more manageable? Let's fight him one on one. Screw using fusion. It would solve the whole thing in seconds and ensure the safety of my family, but this will be more fun."
"Oh crap, even though Buu has gotten way weaker, I still can't beat him! I guess I'll get Gohan and have him smash Buu, ending this whole mess... what was that Vegeta? Yeah, that's a FAR better idea! Let's use an attack that has never worked and takes several minutes to charge, even though this can very easily get everyone killed. It won't be fair if I just bring Gohan. I'm sure he'll just stare at us the whole time."
If other characters hadn't intervened during all these occasions (Freeza, Piccolo, Mr. Satan, Gotenks, Mr. Buu), Goku's kids would be dead dead DEAD, all because Goku is a prick who puts his lust for a fight over their lives.
Pretty sure being turned into stone counts as dead. Your organs cease to function and everything.

Dragon Ball Online would beg to differ.

What is this "Yamcha"?
There was once this ambulatory lump of vaguely-humanoid flesh that got splattered by a Saibaman that I think some people referred to as a "Yamcha", but I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
