Isn't the tournament a "fight until you are eliminated?" That's why Goku was joking in the manga that if he goes first he may just finish all 5 on his own.
Well, if we already have an episode title of Piccolo fighting Frost that must have mean that Goku was eliminated.
So, if Bulma is going around the galaxy looking for a new set of super-powerful Dragonballs, does that mean she's going on a Dragonball Grand Tou- <is kamehameha'd>
Seriously, I like what's being set up here with the dual plotlines - at least as far as I know. I haven't read the manga, so I don't know what's up next, but since most of you probably have I suppose it does me no good to speculate.
In this episode of Dragon Ball Super...
Honestly it felt like a recap episode, there was so many flashbacks to previous events.
Buu wanting to give his wish to Satan was pretty nice, especially since he was acting like a jerk since Super started.
This episode teases us with Gohan entering the tournament only to go "Nah, he's a nerd." right after. And this means we won't get to hear Goku call Gohan a little shit, which I think is an outrage.
You'd think Vegeta would be happier about an opportunity to punch Goku for three years every day.
So yeah, everything set up for the space picnic... I mean tournament.
From what I can tell, the rules of the tournament are: 1 v 1 fights. When one member loses, the next team member from that side steps up for the next match. It keeps going until a team leader is defeated.
Monaka is the team leader for Universe 7. So Goku and Vegeta can both lose, but Universe 7 can still win. As long as Monaka doesn't get defeated.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!Still trying to find a sub of this. Seems there's only raws right now. Rob has grown lazy, and there are only a few anime I will watch raw first.
One Strip! One Strip!Bless this episode for at least trying to pretend that the characters' different styles and techniques matter enough to justify thinking of Piccolo right away. Vegeta going "we don't know what kinds of enemies we'll face, so we should be careful who we choose" just had me thinking "when did that ever matter after you showed up?"
Though I guess if you're excluding Gotenks and Gohan can't go, you're low on choices anyway. Why do I get the feeling the other universe will have one "low strength but freaky powers" type like Guldo, so Piccolo can have an interesting fight.
It's interesting that even with all the crazy powerups they've gotten and how far behind he's gotten, Gohan having even more potential than everyone else is still a thing. At least, according to Vegeta.

I like that Gohan wanted to go but couldn't.
It's the same as in the Manga, but with less Goku looks down on his nerd of a son and more he has other things he's doing.
The key thing is that there will be pay-off for Gohan's training at some point. Whether he can get back to his previous level (the strongest he's been was during his mystic stage) is unknown, but now that Goku and Vegeta have the God power, there's no reason for him not to be that strong any more.
One Strip! One Strip!Indeed. And with training, he might be able to get to that level again, even if at best he can only go Ssj2.
But we'll see. As pointed out, any opponent Gohan can take out would be cake for Vegeta and Goku, especially now.
One Strip! One Strip! In this episode (though I don't know if the line is in the manga) Vegeta points out that even though Gohan is far weaker than them, he still has the potential to be stronger than either him or Goku (which again is both surprising and interesting, if that's not just a throwaway line that is).
To which Goku is all "nah, he's a nerd now. It wouldn't work."

I always thought his signature move was the Garlic Gun. He uses that move more than Final Flash at least.
