I saw that in a Dragon ball game once, it was called Supersonic Warriors.
Piccolo is not exactly the same as his father. They share a soul but they have different bodies. Piccolo Jr's was explicitly said to be stronger than his father's(because of course it was) and the two are not even physically identical.
Buldogue's lawyerWell, given the circumstances of Daimo Piccolo no longer existence, I don't think it is possible to revive him with the Dragon Balls perse, but I think it would be interesting to see another soul inhabit his body.
And Piccolo totally could use the Dragon Balls to contact Future Trunks and then go back in time and fuse with his father using the time machine.
Buldogue's lawyerYeah but then that new timeline's Goku would never have to train with Kami, meaning he never would be strong enough to fight Piccolo Jr, which would mean they would get crushed by the Saiyans. I don't think the repercussions of such an event happening, even in a different timeline, would sit well with Piccolo.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? And whose only real role was being eaten by a homicidal grasshopper man.
Like I said, it's definitely impressive, but storytelling-wise it's one of the most significant powerups in the series in terms of its effect on The 'Verse, and all we get is an inconclusive fight with a character who doesn't really matter much, and is quickly surpassed by other characters through mere Level Grinding.

Because God was his other half. That's specifically why that fusion was so potent.
If Daimao could still exist independently of Junior, he'd be more like runoff at this point. I think it would be bullshit if he gives a bigger power-up than the two halves reuniting.
He also defeated Cell in the first encounter, and found out everything about him. I do think his fusion should have been a bigger deal but there wasn't much else he could do in that arc without fucking up the plot and that is infinitely more important than he is.
It's not as bad as his Namek arc power-up, anyway. He comes out of nowhere, gets a power-up out of nowhere, only to get knocked down by the next person he fights.

Piccolo's boost from fusing with Kami doesn't bother me too much. Old God was stronger than young Daimo Piccolo, who was stronger than old Daimo Piccolo. The fusion specifically used younger Piccolo Jr, so I took it as Piccolo getting the power of Kami's youth in addition to the power lost by the fission.
Buldogue's lawyerBroly's little background cameo in that Otherworld tournament screen shot further down is interesting, never really noticed that.
