Gohan being conspicuously absent so he can pull a Goku later on and show up at the last second with a major level increase in badass and save the day would pretty much be the best thing.
And it does make hilarious sense that Vegeta's suggested written qualifying test would be something Buu wouldn't be able to pass, nevermind Goku barely passing.

Color me intrigued. Not getting my hopes up after Xenoverse's awful attempts at RPG mechanics, but definitely interested.

Say, if Broly and Goku fused, would Broly's half of it want to kill himself? Because, you know, now he is KAKAROTTOOOOOO 'n all...

Honestly, they did way, WAY worse with the RNG on top of RNG on top of RNG shit that they pulled.

himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariWhich is one of the RPG mechanics. They basically lifted the Rare Loot system utilized by many MMORPGs to encourage you to defeat Raid Bosses over and over for that 1% chance at a useful drop.
Classic RPGs were built around pointless grinding for XP, money, and/or drop items. MMORPGs and games that boast "RPG mechanics" are an evolution of that. Xenoverse is no exception.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Thing is, that's not really an "RPG" Mechanic. It's a 'Fake Longevity' mechanic. It's not even exclusive to RP Gs.
You can minimize the RNG to the places we expect it to be.
And awful drop rates are just a bad idea all around. They should be only in multiplayer games, because of trading 'n shit, they have no excuse to be in a single player game where trading economy isn't a thing. Even a coop game like Xenoverse doesn't have trading, so what the eff is up with the drop rates?
At least in mobile games with a gacha in them, you can explain it by the company being greedy assholes who want to squeeze every last coin out of the consumer's wallet, but in Xenoverse? Yeah, there ain't no explanation.
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariIt doesn't have to be but it is. Fake Longevity is more or less the definition of "RPG mechanics". When games advertise the presence of RPG mechanics, it means they added levelling systems, inventories, equipment shops, loot drops, etc.
It means you'll be grinding XP to meet the level requirements of the next area and collecting money to buy Gold Swords and farming monsters for that Platinum Helm drop.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I like Xenoverse a lot, but I'm never going to arguing against the Fake Longevity being a flaw. It's just a fact that the layers of RNG are bad gameplay design for padding out playtime hours, something that was already taken care of by adding online versus battles and character customization.

I dunno, I got nothing.
