I'd love a console version of DBH, most perferably a Wii-U or NX port.

As long as it doesn't have that stupid amiibo-card idea Rhymestyle thought of, that's just as bad as on-disc DLC.

Isn't that true with all DLC?

Not always.

Sometimes DLC is a neat add-on to an already complete game. You are not missing anything for not having it. For instance, Bethesda DLC are typically just expansion packs full of new quests and stories and regions to explore.

But other times, the core game is a shallow vehicle designed with the intention that you will purchase DLC for it.

You can usually tell which is which based on the quantity of DLC and how quickly it emerges after the core game. In most cases, developers of the latter won't even try to hide it, like that time they started marketing preorder DLC packs for Evolve before even telling us anything about the game itself.

DLC has gotten a bad rap with recent developer shadiness but it's important to note that there's nothing wrong with the concept itself. Expansion packs have existed for a lot longer than the word DLC has been around. Even Morrowind had DLC, it just wasn't called that.

It's just a matter of how it's used.

Wouldn't a bonus dungeon that sounds like it's going to just be the Cave of Ordeals for Wolf Link that didn't exist in the original and has no impact on the story or gameplay qualify as the former?

Imagine playing a console video game where there's over 400 characters, but to play as them you have to collect all the cards.

I like the way the 3DS ports do it, with all the characters already on the game.

So I wonder if the "Baby!Trunks" trailer going to drop next?

That's supposed to be where this Goten came from right?

Banking on the wishes still rolling over from when Kami was the Guardian, the only major characters to not be brought back to life using Earth's Dragon Ball are Piccolo, Bulma, Mr. Satan, Videl, and Buu.

And they do. Dende's Shenron couldn't resurrect Goku because God's Shenron had done it once. Changing deities explicitly does not recharge Shenron's ability to revive people.

Letting Dende make his own Dragon Balls probably would have, though.

I still wants Super to address the fact that Shenron has revived basically everyone on Earth at this point and his mass revivals are going to do less and less. Or at least have a throw away line about how Dende buffed Shenron to be as good as Porunga.

If you're referring to the Buu mass revival, that was Porunga who did that.

Shenron's only mass-revived the Namekians, Cell's victims, and some of the attendees from the Tenkaichi Budokai that Majin Vegeta killed - which, granted, is still a lot of people.

Wow, up until it was brought up, I'd totally forgotten that Shenron has never actually revived Piccolo by virtue of the latter having been directly connected to the dragon before.

So that means they can use the balls to bring him back in Super.

[up][up] I know. You're also forgetting all the people on Papaya Island during the 23rd Budoukai (since Piccolo nuked the place), probably a bunch of people that Piccolo Daimaou killed when he took over that city (I think he nuked at least a part of the place during his fight with Goku), and the fighters Tambourine killed (although that was anime filler and I'm not sure if it was implied in the manga).

It's not everyone but it's a lot of people.

Yeah, it had just dawned on me as I was original posting. I had to go back in and edit it since the, until now, sole time Piccolo ever died it was Porunga who revived him.

[up] Piccolo died twice in Dragon Ball. Once to Nappa and once when Pure Boo blew up Earth. Both times, Porunga revived him.

I'm surprised I've never mentioned it before, but the DBH website has a section that catalogs every card released for the game.

So, if you wanna know who's playable in this game, that's who's in. Remember, some of the non-playable bosses are not listed.

Geez, that looks like the worst game to play if you have a completionist vice.

So Bardock is a Time Patroller too? Given all the fan wank I'm surprised we haven't gotten a Time Patrol Bardock vid yet.

Technically we did, when Time Breaker Bardock's mask broke off and he became a good guy, becoming SSJ3 in the process.

I think that was 2-3 updates ago.

When Base Bardock is beating SS 4 Gogeta and then goes SS 3, something is wrong.

Still no Super Saiyan Pan.

...Baby Hatchiyak is a surprisingly good idea.

Also Towa and SKOT were there.

They aren't fighters, but they did some have agency, so. That's nice.

That video falls just short of my incredibly low standards, but more than exceeds my expectations.

At least they're playable, tho.

DBH is the first game where SKOT is playable, isn't it?

It's also the second game in which SKOT has existed.
