No, the destruct failure scenes were filler. The point is the Krillen's moves are just as good as Tien's in canon but filler (and movies) shat on Krillen making him seem less effective while Tien was pretty much untouched by them, and in some cases made to look better than he was. (Tien managed to make Trunks turn Super in the Bojack movie despite not having trained in the time chamber)
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackIt devalues the entire point of them training under King Kai. That entire plot point is completely wasted, because nothing ever comes of it. Nobody got any stronger, nobody learned a new technique, nothing changed. They might as well never have gone.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.King Kai himself hasn't mastered the Kaioken. So the humans will in the few months they were there? Goku has set a precedent for learning techniques extremely quickly.
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."![]()
Then why even send them there to begin with? Narratively, what purpose was served by having them train under King Kai?
I thought it was commonly accepted fanon that all the non-Saiyans were using Kaioken after the Namek arc, but you just couldn't tell the same way they couldn't tell when Goku was using it against Frieza.
The very best, like no one ever was. Check out my Spider-Man fanfic here! [1]I don't acknowledge anything "fanon" related in any series that I have interest in. Its not in my mentality to accept it.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Piccolo wouldn't even have to self-train it. He also went to King Kai's planet. King Kai could have taught it to him.
Seriously. That whole plot point is completely wasted.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.But Piccolo was too proud to do training any way but his own.
From what I gather of King Kai's methods, you have to be willing AND able to withstand the technique in order to use it. Normal humans wouldn't stand a chance.

Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987If Piccolo was too proud to train under King Kai, then why did he even go there in the first place? Because he was lonely and everybody else was doing it?

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Probably because he refused to chase Bubbles the monkey or play cricket with a cricket once he learned that was what King kai's training entailed. I just got that joke.
Normal humans they were not, Tien, Chaozu and Yamcha were all stronger than Goku was when he arrived on King Kai's planet.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackThat's true. None of them were affected by the planet's gravity.
....So right, let's have it. I know you all want to make a joke about him. So get on with it.
One Strip! One Strip!
I'd say Gravity often beats everyone (there are levels that no amount of training can overcome), but I'm sure that there is a snarky comment about how it beats Yamcha much more thoroughly, so it's a waste to bother.
One Strip! One Strip!

... Anom, did you forget math? A negative divided by a positive is still a negative.
