The fact that the universe is in a ball does make me wonder what would happen if Whis pokes one of those walls. Is there something outside the ball? Will there be something like explosive decompression?

[up][up][up] I think I'd say "hero who fails to murder babies" personally.

Jaco is really inept.

But seriously, I never thought about this before, but Jaco gives us so many opportunities to expand the universe! After Namek, the heroes literally never visit another planet again. And I understand why, but...the universe is enormous, and now there's another universe, and...they could seriously do more world-building, and it's great.

Also, Vegeta explaining that Saiyan men are attracted to strong-willed women. That explains SO much. It's like that part in the Cell Saga where he explains that Saiyan hair doesn't grow past a certain point. It's a minor detail that really adds to the world's believability.

WHY is it going to take at least another few months for the anime to get here?? *sigh*

Jaco, after spending less than a day talking with a bitter old man decided that it might be a good idea to release a deadly virus that would wipe out humanity.

He also did that once before by an accident. He somehow still has his job.

Jaco is kinda awful, really.

[up] And that really fits with Dragon Ball. Every character is a massively flawed individual. Especially Goku.

It's part of Toriyama writing style, I think. No one is perfect.

Jaco goes beyond flawed and into being a planetary menace by the sheer level of incompetence.

So what you're saying is that he's less of a danger to the planet than Vegeta.

Jaco looks like the result of making pre-timeskip Matsuda from Death Note a main character, in space. In other works, a living fuck-up.

That's not the same as being believably flawed as a person.

I mean, I'm pretty sure that the entire joke with Jaco is that for all his bragging about being Super Elite of Galactic patrol he's an incompetent buffoon, and the patrol itself is largely inconsequential.

Vegeta told Frieza to transform, and he let Cell absorb 18, and he helped Babadi wake up Buu, and he broke the Potaras.

And he let Frieza blow up the Earth that one time before Whis rewound time.

He's not THAT much of a fuck-up. He does manage to accomplish SOME THINGS. He stopped a malfunctioning rocket from destroying a city. And he does pretty well against Freeza's soldiers.

But he's pretty much the least competent member of the Galactic Patrol. It's probably the reason why the Earth was left unchecked for so long.
