[up][up][up][up]And I take it as he's being self-righteous for something that doesn't actually matter.

Again, "balance of the universe" is utter bullshit.

[up]How it functions is a cliché.

[up]Again, you can say that but that doesn't make it true. And seriously, is he self-righteous about his job? And is that even the definition of Knight Templar?

Edit: How is it cliche and why does that make it bad? Cliches are just tools neither absolutely good nor bad.

Tenshinhan is as Human with his third eye as Krillin is with his lack of nose.

[up] He doesn't.

In BOG he seemed like a Punch-Clock Villain who went around destroying planets because it was his job requirement and he was good at his job.

In Super, he seemed like a pretty sadistic bastard. And I don't like that shift.

Yeah, I like Beerus more when he seems more chill.

[up][up] That's where I kind of disagree. If he was truly a punch-clock villain, he wouldn't give two shits about screwing with King Vegeta unless he took pleasure out of it. But at the same time he isn't 100% a sadist, just your standard jackass.

The only reason people see that distinction is because we didn't see him actually destroy planets on Battle of Gods.

I don't have an issue with Super's characterization of Beerus.

I just want a balance between the two, to be honest.

Well, you can still be a jackass outside of work.

But being kind of a jerk outside of your job and destroying entire civilizations inside your job counts as a Punch-Clock Villain, at least to me.

I think the difference is that we know King Vegeta kinda deserves it overall.

[up] Fair enough. Though I kind of felt sorry for Prince Vegeta having to watch his dad get pushed around like that.

[up]x14: I was going to go on a tangent about how much I hate Balance Between Good and Evil, but then I realized it's a very long-standing cultural thing. So never mind.

Doesn't make me hate it any less, though.

I also hate the whole "balance of good and evil" thing, but I'm not sure destruction is evil.

Everything has to break down. Decay can bring life.

This is more the balance of creation and destruction. Like with Xerneas and Yveltal in Pokemon.

[up][up]It's also my deepest, most personal fear for so many reasons.

I hate people portraying it as a good thing. Because it really, really isn't.

[up]I don't even think they do that. I mean, Yvetal doesn't kill anybody. At least not without Team Flare draining its power.

[up][up]I would be if it meant what made it would be Lost Forever. But as that is not the case, cheese is fine.

Beerus doesn't destroy things that can be replaced, though. And neither does most forms of decay.

Death isn't terrible, it's just an end. How old are you, exactly? Because I'm 17 and I await death. I'll be scared when it happens, but I'm ready for it. When it happens, it happens, I can't change fate, and I have to accept it.

Destruction IS a good thing sometimes though.

So is entropy.

Without entropy there'd be no cheese or yogurt or alcohol or vinegar.

Our metabolism relies on taking things apart for energy.

When Beerus destroys things it's so the Supreme Kais can make more things.
