Yeah he was all like "If I don't make it out of this, I'll make sure to tell grandpa I'm sorry". Due to the situation and not being a kid he didn't break down but it still hurt.
I always wished Gohan appeared again in the series. So Goku could actually apologize and Gohan could tell him it was okay and just have nice family bonding all around.
Being sorry and feeling guilty aren't the same thing. Also, he found that out significantly earlier than the Vegeta fight. I mean, he definitely knew he squished Gohan by the time he actually met his ghost. And that's his grandpa, not just some old annoying green dude who keeps wanting you to do something boring like sit on a giant floating circle for centuries.

.....
No, I don't think he found out then. I'm near positive Gohan never mentioned it (for the obvious reason of not wanting Goku to feel guilty).
I mean, there's a reason Goku making the connection between Oozaru Vegeta and what happened to his Grandfather (plus remembering Raditz's words) was such a big deal. That's when he finally put two and two together.
One Strip! One Strip!Rob's right. Don't you remember Krillin, Bulma, and the others having a minor freak out when they saw that Gohan had a tail and they tried to "discreetly" find out if Gohan had ever transformed only for Goku to be horribly confused? He never knew until Vegeta.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!It wasn't really a big deal in the manga. It gets like one or two panels and Goku never remembers it again.
And well the way it was acted made it seem like Goku accidentally killing his grandfather was on par with breaking the oven.
I don't think Goku is able to feel negative emotions for long besides anger.
Because they hadn't seen each other in years after the tournament and their reunion has Raditz show up and kill him.
At the tournament , they only got to spend very little time with him before Piccolo Jr. showed up and people got preoccupied with that and then he left for years after that.

This was a while back, but to the person asking about how, and or why we got into Dragonball, this ad was another reason for me. (It also got me watching Outlaw Star, and I've yet to watch Tenchi Muyo but it's up there)
Toonami used to air ads like this all the time, and because Dragonball was a popular show, they used several clips from it, which completely derride what the show itself was actually about, but were nevertheless interesting and serving the point.
There was another one where they talked about anger, using Vegeta and Piccolo as chief examples, and one I really liked, an ad for the Android Saga that ends with Vegeta's, "I am the prince of all Saiyans once again!"

Holy balls, that's the one!

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Is it really that important that he know he turned into a raging beast-man and murdered his own parent figure?
Bulma and the others were holding onto a piece of information that could only hurt Goku. That is a very difficult position to be in, knowing that if you don't tell him, you are deliberately withholding the truth from him, but if you do tell him, you are knowingly causing your friend intense pain that could potentially crush his soul.
There's no right answer to that conflict. No easy solution. It's easy to say, "Well, I would want to know." We all say that. We always think we would want to know because we are a curious species who cannot stand feeling ignorant, even in hypothetical situations where we would be ignorant of our ignorance.
But there are some things you regret learning. Goku's life did not benefit in any way from learning that he was responsible for Gohan's death, because it was not knowledge that could influence any positive change. Even Gohan himself saw that and chose to withhold the truth from him, and if anyone has a right to ownership of that knowledge, it's him.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.
So, yeah that. There was no benefit to telling Goku what would happen. The only thing it would do was cause him unnecessary pain. It was said but it was in the past and he had moved on from it. It would just be opening old wounds for the sake of it or some personal conscience clearing on their part.

In the latest Super episode, Android 18 wants to come and fight Freeza, presumably because she thinks it would be fun. Krillin tells her no, and orders her to get back in the kitchen and make him dinner. 18 obeys for some reason rather than slapping him upside the head and flying out herself. As he flies away, she comments thay Krillin is really cool.
Well, at least the writers are being honest about what they're doing rather than denying what the scene means, like some fans.
"Stay in the kitchen, woman" - Krillin
"So manly" - 18
"D'awwwwwww, what a great scene" - Super/FNF fans

I really hate that they did that Krillin /18 scene again.
I mean, it just makes him look really bad, and it's frustrating.
I mean, if it was that important to keep 18 out of the fight, they should have thought of something else. Maybe if they gave her something to do, they could have come up with a better explanation beyond Lol! Sexism Stay in the Kitchen! that doesn't make Krillin look like an asshole who deserves to get killed.
One Strip! One Strip!Krillin: 18, Freeza is coming back with his army, I need to go and kick some ass.
18: Let me come with you, I haven't kicked ass in a long time.
Krillin: No.
18: NO? Excuse me?
Krillin: Look, I get enough shit thrown my way for being a midget, useless, and overall being the chew toy of the universe. The last thing I need is my wife to show me up in a fight. So please, I beg you, let me have this one, and go make me dinner for when I get back, OK?
-Krillin flies off-
18: I swear to god, I'm going to f*cking kill you when you get back.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?

He didn't dwell on it for too long because he had other things on his mind (like not being stomped into paste by Vegeta), and he was an adult when it happened, so he handled it better, but I'd hardly say he wasn't sorry about it.
Edit:
'ed by Zelenal.
I should also point out that if Goku takes Kami's place as God, then he'd likely never even end up marrying Chi-chi, due to....well, being fucking God.
