Well, even going by the odd colored chapter cover in the tankabon versions, Goku's gi has always been orange
◊, it's just a lot lighter than the anime makes it
◊.
For reference, this is golden yellow
.
I would gladly pull up the original Japanese and see what kanji is used but I have no idea where to even begin to find those since my Google Fu failed me.

That is from the full colour release, which is digitally coloured and not done by Toriyama (the regular tankobon don't have the original colours).
The Kanzenban has all of Toriyama's original colouring. Here are two chapter pages taken from there: 1

The Kanzenban specific art is one of the best examples because that was where Toriyama had a larger colour palette to use. In limited palettes he uses darker colours, and often makes Goku's gi outright red with his most limited palette.
...Wait, what.
Oh for fuck's sake.
But weaker than someone on Zarbon's level.
...Does Gohan's name actually mean "Understanding Cooked Rice"?

Yes and no. 孫 (Son) means "grandchild; descendant" while ご飯 (Gohan) does mean "cooked rice" or "meal".
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I bet the Japanese have an easier time remembering Dragon Ball's gag-series nature when watching Cooked Rice and Chestnut fleeing for their lives from an enraged Durian Fruit, after having successfully rescued Snail of the Slug people.
Like, if they actually translated the character names during localization, there would probably be fewer Westerners complaining that things like Majin Buu are a contradiction of how SERIOUS and HARDCORE the series is supposed to be.

Shisami (and Tagoma in super) trained with Freeza during the 4 months which is how they became actually impressive fighters. Piccolo also got hit like once by Shisami in the movie and totally could have handled him. Gohan only went Super Saiyan to quickly end the fight he probably could have crushed Shisami in base.
Well, I've finished reading the Boo Saga. Say what you will about Gohan being shafted but the Genki Dama finisher was great. The Earthlings, Namekians, and everyone in the Otherworld coming together to deal the finishing blow to the ultimate incarnation of evil was awesome. Meanwhile, Gohan curb stomping Pure Boo simply wouldn't have been. Although that Genki Dama was nowhere near as large as the one Goku hit Freeza with.
Also, I think I have to agree with Saiga regarding it. The Boo Saga is amazing up until Vegetto enters Super Boo. From there, it gets kinda meh until the end. I also really don't like Goku abandoning his family to train Oob.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Yeah, how Buu got finished off was great. Even Team Four Star, who doesn't have a high opinion of the Buu saga, put it in their list of the top moments in the series; in the top 15, no less.

He did. And it technically did since the manga version of Vegetto VS Boohan isn't as good as the anime version. I just like Vegetto too much to say that.
To be fair to Gohan v. Super Buu, it probably wouldn't have been as much of a curbstomp if it was still intended to be the finale when it went down.
The pieces already in place could have been used to set up a final confrontation of Ultimate Gohan v. Buutenks.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Probably sometime waaay before the Gohan vs. Buutenks fight happened, I doubt he changed his mind on the fly.
But yea, as much as I would have preferred Gohan, I do admit to loving how Buu was defeated with the Spirit Bomb and not with a new power up. Made things come full circle.
