That's prolly why it didn't work.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I just remembered, the ''Dragon Ball Super Start Guide'' said that characters other than Frieza would return, with two previous villains pictured.

With Ginyu confirmed for Super, who's gonna bet Cell might actually return in the future?

Eww. That would be so lazy. At least Freeza is very important in the DB universe. Cell was an antagonist exclusively from Earth. People like Beerus and Whis don't even know who he is.
I mean, what would it add to the story? Nothing, really. It'd just be another villain wanting revenge on Goku. And knowing Toei, they're probably going to retroactively revise the story so that Cell only cares about Goku, and kind of forgets that Gohan actually killed him.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!Soon we'll get Golden Cell followed by Golden Broly and Golden Buu. After that we'll get Platinum Freeza.
That list needs work, and lots of it. Where did you found it?
Well, to be fair, the latter is sort of true. Goku trained Gohan to become a Super Saiyan, sent him out to fight a hopeless battle against Cell, sacrificed himself to keep Cell from ragequitting all over Earth's face, and then micromanaged Gohan into killing Cell via telepathy - right down to telling him precisely when to push his full power into the final Beam Struggle.
16, Vegeta, and Cell also contributed important elements to Cell's defeat (although Vegeta's contribution is undermined by the fact that it wouldn't have been necessary if not for Vegeta getting Gohan injured) but Goku was the one telling him how to win after Gohan himself had given up.
It's still totally unfair to say Goku killed Cell, though. Both claims snub Gohan needlessly, but that one's just factually inaccurate to boot.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Eh. While I love flying into rages as much as the next person, lets see what really happens first.
One Strip! One Strip!Think we might be seeing some of the events of Online / Xenoverse popping up/alluded to, since the former was considered canon last time I checked?

That's the one thing I know will never happen sadly enough.
That doesn't mean it's not an awesome idea though.
One Strip! One Strip!

Digimon Next Has NEO.
There's also Baguramon, Shoutmon X7 Superior Mode, and above all, the mythical never seen but feared by all Gaiamon.
