Do they really? I mean, Goku does, but the other Sayains we've seen were having time of their life beating down on weaker foes, and got angry when their prey bite back.
Look at Nappa, when Z warriors scored some hits against him, he wasn't happy, he was pissed. When Goku showed up and started beating him up, he lost his shit so much Vegeta had to remind him to calm down.
Heck, look at Vegeta. Nothing makes him happier than when he can stomp someone into the ground. Whenever he's in a fight he doesn't dominate he tends to get angry pretty fast.
And yet he explicitly let Cell become Perfect for the prospect of a greater fight and further glory.
My various fanfics.I love this show, but some of the hardcore Vegeta fans are downright insufferable sometimes. Literally, people keep talking about how Vegeta should totally kill Beerus for ordering Vegeta's destruction and how badass would that be amirite? They also talk about how Vegeta should have beaten [insert every single villain here].
Anyway, the Videl/Spopovich fight was unnecessarily brutal and ultimately pointless, and I could go full feminism on its ass and literally talk about the Unfortunate Implications for over 10 minutes (and I have) but I won't, because most people here already know what I'm talking about.

That.
Vegeta didn't let Cell achieve Perfection for a better fight. He did it because Cell played on his ego. He couldn't allow the insinuation that Perfect Cell would be stronger than him to go uncontested. Before Cell offended his pride, Vegeta was entirely willing to kill him in his Semi-Perfect form and call it a day.

Seriously, it goes from high school drama to Henshin Hero to Tournament Arc to crazy cosmic adventure in the span of less than fifty chapters. There's a whole bunch of Red Herring villains too, starting, in fact, with Supreme Kai himself, who makes a decidedly sinister entrance.

Oh, definitely. The Videl fight originally served two purposes. 1) to get Gohan emotionally invested in the new villains, and to give him motivation to take them down and 2) to show just how evil the Majin threat was. In that they're brutalising a young girl. Oh, and I guess it also served to show how powerful someone controlled by Babidi became.
But as for 1) Piccolo and Krillin getting turned to stone served that purpose, and besides, you wouldn't have thought Gohan's girlfriend had been beaten up, the way he was acting in Babidi's ship. And 2) Babidi would have already shown he was irredeemably evil after his You Have Outlived Your Usefulness moment.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!I don't know. The Videl one seems worse. It reached the point where she couldn't fight back, but unlike with Rock, no one tried to help her. Also, Lee still got up even while unconscious, while Videl reached the point where she could only wait for Spopovitch to get tired of kicking the shit out of her.
One Strip! One Strip! The main series humiliates Vegeta over and over again even if he does end up with a happy family at the end. It doesn't really do that with Sasuke all that much. Yeah there are some fights where he gets pretty beat up but he tends to win anyways.
Plus Vegeta has a bombastic personality and is hilarious and Sasuke barely has one and isn't once we get to Part two. Humor goes a long way towards endearing a character to its audience.

The very few dramatic gains that can be had from having Gohan experience Manpain over Videl's near-fridging and desire vengeance against Spopovich are almost immediately wasted when Spopovich and Yamu are unceremoniously killed off for no reason by Babidi as soon as the plot actually picks up.
That Spopovich and Yamu are such utterly irrelevant wastes of characters makes the beatdown of Videl even more pointless and unnecessary.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.He didn't have a grudge against her, he had one against her father. From a character standpoint, he tortured her to cause Mr. Satan to feel some feelings. From a narrative standpoint, he tortured her to cause Gohan to feel some feelings. It was a Women in Refrigerators Twofer.

It is kind of sad there was no payoff to that; would have definitely loved to see Gohan kick the shit out of Spopovich.
In fact, Babidi performing You Have Outlived Your Usefulness would have made a lot more sense if Spopovich had lost already or proven he was inferior. He effectively did everything Babidi wanted and the latter killed him for....reasons.
In fact, Babidi is pretty fucking stupid when you stop and think about it. Why was the Supreme Kai even afraid of him? Could have left him alone and Buu would have eventually killed him anyway.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. And of COURSE she'd be winning! Gohan says Videl is probably stronger than Mr. Satan. Mr. Satan, for all his bluster, actually did win the Budokai last time. So, yeah. Videl is one of the strongest non-ki using fighters on Earth.
@Son Of Sharknado I hate Vegeta fanboys. So much. Of course, I also hate Strictly SSJ 2 Teen Gohan fanboys. And Broly fanboys. Basically, I hate fanboys who only like characters because they're 'badass'. It's also why I sometimes hate the DBZ fanbase in general.

The "Bad Man" shirt should have become Vegeta's default outfit.
