So me and Zel just realized that there was a point in time where Mercenary Tao was one of the strongest living things on the planet Earth. Seriously, before Goku trains with Korin, the only things stronger than Tao are God, God's manservant, and the God of Martial Arts.
My various fanfics. On a side note, what the hell is Korin's purpose in the deity hierarchy?
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!At hand to hand maybe, but I think Yajirobe's talents lie more in his swordsmanship.
Remember, he's the reason Vegeta no longer has a tail.
One Strip! One Strip!I still want to know how Vegeta dodged Krillin's Kienzan.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Yeah.
I'd say he finally learned after that.
Huh. I'd always wondered when and how he learned, but I never gave much thought to why, but someone like Yajirobe getting the drop on him (and twice at that) likely made Vegeta very motivated to learn to sense energy.
One Strip! One Strip! That honestly makes so much sense. Good job, everyone!
And Roshi's...whatever you want to call it didn't seem like it was an actual technique to me. The whole point is he has almost no muscle until he goes into that form, whereas everyone else have huge muscles naturally.
I think it's part of his old age.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!Yeah. I don't think you need giant monkey ears (which Vegeta had anyway) to hear that one coming.
New thought. Like I said, I've been catching up on Super, and I gotta ask.....
Has Tarble been retconned out of existence?
I mean, he was mentioned in the original Battle Of Gods movie, but he didn't get a name drop in the Super version of the story. This is pretty odd since we know Toriyama did both didn't he?

One Strip! One Strip!Am I the only one really interested in Yajirobe's backstory? Like how he got strong enough to be approximately even with 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai Goku? We don't know anything about what the guy was like before he was introduced, and yet he's somehow inexplicably that strong and has a design inspired by a ronin. Yajirobe has a story to tell.
That's fair enough. But we also have to consider that when looking at some heartwarming pictures, using it as an opportunity to point out how Gohan is a failure of a warrior (cause the author chose to make him one) is taking joke too far.
It's the same reason the Yamcha jokes get on my nerves. It's just gone too far, and this is from a guy who finds how they rip into Yamcha on Dragon Ball Z Abridged hilarious.
One Strip! One Strip!

I'd say for the same reason some characters don't learn a lot of techniques:
Cause it wouldn't really make much of a difference.
On a more meta reason, Toriyama didn't care enough to bother to have him teach it to anyone.
