Wow. That Yamcha article is both the nicest thing anyone has said about him, and likely the longest someone has gone without talking about how much he sucks.
And it makes sense too.
So, we'll all just go back to talking about how big a loser he is later right?
That Clip of Krillin once again reminds me that I need to get back to watching Super. I've been slacking a lot on that front.
And yeah, Vegeta is an asshole. Makes his long time guardian and associate go bald, and then murders him. He literally used Nappa up until he saw no point in keeping him around.
Still funny though. Toryism should make it canon.
I just got my pre-order of Ultimate Budoten in the mail today, and... I immediately regretted it. Why would they even think to release it in the West without an English voice option?!
If I have to play a game on mute in order to tolerate it, something's very wrong.
EDIT: Oookay, deep breaths. I'm sorry, but I just personally cannot stand the Japanese voices. Why does Bardock have the same voice as Kid Gohan?!

Because that would take a lot of time and money, and Extreme Butoten isn't as big-budget as Xenoverse is, so it makes less sense to put that much money in redubbing it.
Also, the fact that Dragon Ball IS a series made in Japan first. Technically, using the Japanese cast makes it more accurate to the source material.
You just have to get used to Nozawa. It's not like she does the exact same voice for each character. There are differences.

The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!My bit problem with Nozawa is that she gets insanely shrieky whenever she shouts. And there's a lot of shouting in Dragon Ball.
I suppose I'll have to get used to it eventually since I'll be watching Digimon Tamers in Japanese where she voices Guilmon.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Digimon Tamers is pretty good in english. It's actually my favorite Digimon series.
I've watched enough Japanese Dragon Ball that now I'm used to Nozawa's Goku. Her performance doesn't bother me anymore.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!Which is why you should watch the superior Latin American dub.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyI hear her voice and think "someone's amateur fan dub".
Seriously, the Vocal Dissonance flat-out ruins the experience for me. I wasn't kidding about muting; every time a special or something is confirmed to never be getting a dub (like "Yo! Son Goku and Friends Return" and "Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans"), I watch the whole thing in total silence, and even then only because I'm a completionist.
This isn't a case of "boo hoo she's not what I'm used to"; it's a case of "Nozawa can't voice act to save her life".

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerI'm able to deal with it through the power of no fucks given.
It's a mighty power, that makes bad dubs and questionable japanese voices impotent before me.
One Strip! One Strip!
I think you've got that last statement backwards.
He let his guard down around an enemy he assumed defeated so he could boast about how awesome he is. Then hubris kicked him in the ass.
It's the same thing that happens to Vegeta all the time, except that Vegeta at least has the good sense not to turn his back until he's verified his presumptions. And, as seen with the Ginyu Force, Vegeta double-taps to be certain.

Dude. It's not trying to play him up as being some super big player who should be treated like the second coming of god. It's just saying: he supports his friends, even if only a little.
We all get that Yamcha isn't important. The entire fandom has seem fit to hammer that particular nail into the ground. It's just saying that Yamcha understands who he is, and is fine with that.

One Strip! One Strip! Also fair. Yamcha originally volunteered to fight the Saibamen because Krillin's been killed before and thus can never be revived again. Yamcha still has a Shenron Resurrection available and so if he's killed, it would not have permanent consequences. He was motivated by strategic use of Death Is Cheap initially.
He only started showboating after he defeated the Saibaman. He's got a good heart, but he does not think well on his feet.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.And everyone but Vegeta thought that fight was over. That's a point a point people leave out. It wasn't just Yamcha being cocky it was almost everyone there legitimately thinking that fight was over.
I'd agree that he should have been more cautious but no need to frame the situation more negatively than it actually is.

Vegeta and compartmentalization.
So in character for Vegeta that it hurts.
Super is great for making fun of Vegeta.
Yay Yamcha!
Goku tried.
Vegeta is awful.
