The henchmen are anime-only. Manga Babidi's crew, if I remember right, was only himself, Pocus, Dabura, and this mystery person. Yamu and Spopovich were just recruited to have peons that were from Earth and too weak to draw attention gathering energy.

It's so weird. The manga has a full-on detailed diagram of the ship's interior. Like this was going to be a big portion of the story, before Toriyama just decided to screw it and make all the antagonists pathetically weak compared to them.
It honestly would have been a great way to build up to Majin Buu. Although you could argue it would have been a repeat of the Ginyu Force segments.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!Well, not Goku and Vegeta.
They both got stronger, and the former was fucking dead.
Though I guess considering what he did, Vegeta did think he grew complacent.
One Strip! One Strip! They did grow complacent; Vegeta was so confident in their superiority that he thought Buu would have been just as weak as the rest of Babidi's men.
And...let's be fair, there was some justification to it; at that point, the saiyans were literally stronger than the highest ranked gods. Even Gohan, who was significantly rusty and weaker than he was seven years prior, was still vastly stronger than the Supreme Kai and was at worst, even with Dabura even if his fighting was sloppy.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I wouldn't say vastly stronger: the two combat feats East Kaioshin does have, restraining Gohan with telekinesis and surviving three hits from Madjinn (just my Fan Nickname, I have the right to use it) Buu compared to two on Gohan, imply that East Kaioshin is at least in the same ballpark as Gohan, albeit weaker.

I doubt that.
He wouldn't have been scared shitless of Dabura if he was in the same ballpark as Gohan.
I peg him as being around the same level of Perfect Cell (pre self-destruction).
One Strip! One Strip! The DBH website is gonna be digitally uploading all the chapters of the DBH manga.
It's gonna do a chapter a day, and once it hits chapter 28, they're gonna release the next chapter, just in time for the anniversary!
Also, they're gonna release a book called Dragon Ball Heroes 5th Anniversary Mission, which is where chapter 29 will be.

And both Piccolo and guidebooks say Kaioshin is stronger.
Also he's not scared of Pui Pui, he's scared of how casual the Saiyans are being. But that's because what he's sensing from them is their suppressed power, and when Vegeta actually fights he shows more power and casually demolishes Pui Pui. Kaioshin notes as much.
I've said it before, from Kaioshin's perspective he was running an Escort Mission where the AI wouldn't listen to him and them getting hurt meant his failure. He just didn't know the Saiyans had the stats to solo it.

Yeah. It was a Bait-and-Switch not only for the characters but for any audience members who, like them, was chuckling and going, "Yeah, the Super Saiyans are super badass, these guys are a joke. They can handle anything that's thrown at them."

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub. That is true.
And yet, Goku and Vegeta would make the same mistake again when fighting Frieza.....
Although that's not why things went bad, no matter what the plot tries to say.
Goku suddenly being susceptible to a simple laser is bullshit (and they didn't even try to justify why it worked on him), and Vegeta was trying to kill Frieza, but the latter managed to Ass Pull a Rage Quit seconds before Vegeta finished him.
One Strip! One Strip!Funny thing is, the only thing that prevented those expectations from being true, is Goku refusing to destroy Buu right from the start. The arc would be a lot shorter that way and people would probably joke about Goku skipping all the mid arc training and going straight to destroying the villain with a new Super Sayian level.
Yeah.
Though in hindsight, he might have used up all his time before he got that opportunity.
It's hard to say. Buu's incredible regenerative abilities might have surpassed Goku's ability to destroy him even if Super Saiyan 3 did make him stronger.....
And I just had a thought.
We know Kid Buu just utterly wrecked the Supreme Kais / Kaioushins right?
But in the manga, we only ever see his fight with South Supreme Kai, who seemed to be his equal until the Buu cheated and absorbed him.
We know that Buu is damed tough in all his forms, being able to take a lot of punishment even from stronger foes, having ridiculous stamina, and just all around being tough.
Since we never get any power levels from characters during the course of the series, are we sure that Buu was that much stronger than the Kais? What if he was only a little bit more powerful then them, but his stamina and regeneration meant he was able to outlast them until they were too weak to really fight back?
One Strip! One Strip!

The game just didn't grab my interest, is all.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!
