I can't help but ponder how the entire plot of Resurrection "F" happened because Piccolo and Gohan felt evil energy, noticed Shenron being summoned, and decided to do jack shit.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Goku vs Beerus was supposed to have tension and build-up, because this was the first signficant Dragonball feature in years. This was Toriyama stepping back up to the plate. You didn't truly know if Goku could beat Beerus.
Goku vs Frieza was self-indulgent, bringing back an old villain. There's no tension. Right from the beginning Tagoma presents the sensible solution to Frieza that would've ended the film, and Frieza kills him for it.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Nooot really. That fight is just a rehash of the anime version of SSJ Goku VS 100% Freeza. Goku's kicking the shit out of Freeza, Freeza powers up, Freeza appears to kick the shit out of Goku for a bit, Goku kills Freeza.

Well, there's that part in between where Goku gets a hole put in him, Vegeta finally gets his shot, finishes mopping the floor with Frieza, Frieza pulls a rage quit and destroys Earth, Whis rewinds time, and Goku pulls a Kill Steal to save the day.
Beyond that, total rehash.
Edit: And now that I think about it, it wouldn't be the first time things escalated as far as they did because someone did something really stupid (the entire Android / Cell Saga, and a lot of the Buu Saga as well).

One Strip! One Strip!Damn green people, ruining this country.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseThis is all wrong. In order:
- Freeza says he'll reach a power of 1.3 million
- He's in his First Form, but just talking about the power he will reach. It makes no sense for it to be about his artificial first form and wouldn't work even if it were because his final form would still be too weak.
- Akira Toriyama didn't say that, it was Freeza's voice actor. And it was a joke, because he was making a pun - 100 quintillion in Japanese sounds a bit like they they pronounce "nice guy". He said because Freeza was a nice guy, that's how powerful he would be. Obvious joke.

Wait a minute, if Shisami is strong enough to match Piccolo, who's far stronger than Freeza was on Namek, why do they need Freeza around? Shisami could just step up his game and become just as dreaded as Freeza was.

Goku won't trade Vegeta his Scyther.
