Oh, so we're just supposed to take everything the characters say at face value without compensating for sarcasm or hyperbole? So I guess Yamcha IS one of the strongest guys around. Chi-chi obviously cares about the world, she was saying that to express that Gohan a child scholar has no place on a dangerous battlefield. This all could've been avoided if Goku had just told Chi-chi how strong Gohan was.

@Pushover, she can comprehend it by actually seeing him in action, but that's not something she actually has any interest in doing.
And it would be one thing if she just expected Goku to get hurt but that's not the same thing as blatantly ignoring how injured he is and not showing any concern. That is not something a spouse does, not matter how confident they are in their partner.
Yamcha is one of the strongest guys around. Sure, he's nothing compared to the Saiyans, Piccolo, Lazuli, Krillin, and Tenshinhan but that leaves the millions or billions of other people on the planet that he's vastly stronger than.

Who's focusing on it? I'm pointing out why you were wrong about the incident and now I'm also pointing out that she never conceded or implied that her treatment was anything but right. Getting called out on it didn't make her change or her actions or opinion on that matter.
But the fact of the matter is that Gohan is not a normal kid, there were legitimate reasons for him to undertake the things he did, some of which weren't even Goku's fault, and the only reason she didn't realize that was because she didn't want to.
That Chichi's feelings are understandable and in the real world totally justifiable, doesn't change that in they're world she's just plain wrong.
I don't understand why that's so hard for you to get.

I'm saying that they are justifiable from her point of view. No-one ever told her that her son was around the strength of his father. She may be wrong in the grander scale but everything except ignoring Goku is justified from her point of view. Ignoring Goku isn't even that big of a thing; he was just in a fight, of course he would be beaten up, her 5 year old that she hasn't seen in a year being unconscious takes priority.
The claim that she was unconcerned about Goku is utter bullshit.
She was clearly concerned when Goku was injured after the Saiyan saga and when he was unconscious after the heart condition.
Honestly, it seems most of you guys don't know what it is to be a parent. She's honestly not wrong most of the time.
She's also not wrong in that he needs to work support his family, especially since most of their expenses go into feeding the lazy bum.
No one says she's never shown concern for Goku.
Neither has anyone said that her being worried about her kids is understandable.
No one has said her wanting Goku to work is bad. Though that also brings up why she never considers getting a job.
Those things are not the issue.

Hell, why doesn't she learn how to fly?
It'd actually be better and cost less than getting a car. In fact, there's a lot of Mundane Utility to Goku's abilities that don't really get explored.
There are probably more efficient ways for him to farm than with a tractor for example.
One Strip! One Strip!Chi-chi's dream is to have a stereotypically normal life with a stereotypically normal family. Unfortunately for her, this is Dragon Ball, and she's married to Goku.

Like by hand. He was plowing several fields by hand every morning for half a year when he was a kid and he did it in, oh, an hour?
For the record, I never said that Chichi wasn't wrong or essentially insane for believing the things she did and being the way she is, what I am saying is that there's explanations for her behavior, and that she's not precisely despicable, she's just incredibly dumb.
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariBoth Chi-Chi and Bulma were equally stupid in those respective scenes, but Chi-Chi had a better reason to slap Buu.
Anyway, should I even watch Dragonball Super? My brothers say they watch it, but I don't get the hype.

Yes, it's totally Goku's fault that a brother he never knew about came out of nowhere to kidnap his son. It's also totally his fault that he died in the process of not only rescuing him but also saving the Earth. I mean, there were totally fifty other ways they could have defeated Raditz.
