- shrug* I just see it as a Throw the Dog a Bone moment to a character that had already fallen out of relevance.
But this is Dragon Ball and fans will always read more into things than needed.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.To be honest, if any human character were to come out of obscurity and becoming strong and relevant again, Tien is far from the one to be that person. He may look buff as hell, but I feel the only human with a chance to power up to a big length is Krillin.
He is technically the only human to have gotten significant power-ups such as Guru's, and maybe with the help of Old Kai, he could become even stronger, maybe even around Piccolo's level.
Plus, Tien doesn't really give a damn anymore, Chiaotzu's a zombie vampire, Roshi's strong but too old, Chi-Chi's to wrapped up on Goten's school stuff, and Yamcha's a Yamcha. Lazuli and Lapis might have a greater chance, but they're preoccupied with their respective families and who knows how a cyborg's biology works?
Technically, the only other Human with a chance similar to Krillin's is Videl, but she's kinda pregnant at the moment.
I dunno why Ten doesn't just ask to get teleported to Kaoishin's planet. So it's 24 hours to get any potential he might have unlocked. The fuck was he doing with the rest of his day?
My various fanfics.I think its more Tvtropes hates Tien's fans than Tien himself.
I don't really factor in how fans feel about about a character to judge them, so I'm just kinda neutral on Tien honestly. Even without his fans sucking him off, he's kind boring in all honesty, he's like Piccolo and Vegeta if they didn't have any of their quirks.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Just watched the latest episode of Super. Hot damn, universe destroying shock-waves from punches. That's impressive.
Vegeta, what are you doing, you can't feel their ki, you have no idea what's going on!
Also, is it me or the fight in Super has a much different feel from the one in the movie. In BOG it was clear that Goku is outmatched, here much less so.
Something tells me they're going to give Frieza the Adaptational Badass treatment when we get to the Resurrection F arc.

To me it just comes off as the last vestigial tumor of "humans can still matter!" that so many people want to believe in, so they cling to that moment and turn it into more that it, or he, really is.
But that's just me. Still a cool moment.
