Nail was 42,000 not 44,000.
The Nameless Namekian was described by Guru as a prodigy who couldn't be killed by a Saiyan unless they were a Super Saiyan - this is before he knew about the split.
Nail's comment was also "if you had never split, you'd beat Freeza" so the original son of Katatz was super strong.
Though I do believe Piccolo Juniors progress still contributed to his strength post-fusion. Whether it was as a result of adding his gains onto the original's power or regaining a large share of the power lost in the split.
Dammit, I had Nail right the first time but changed it.
I fell to peer-pressure. I'm so ashamed.

You know, it's still a bit baffling to realize that Frieza's first transformation only raised his power to an eighth of a percent of his full power. And that's all Piccolo could keep up with.
Watching that episode on Toonami makes me chuckle at Piccolo's highly unwarranted confidence.

And he could barely keep up with that 2nd form after a while.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Still, if Piccolo had gone all out at the beginning, I'm betting he could have beaten Frieza, since he's a lot better at fighting than Frieza is.
Like, Goku was able to keep up with 50% Frieza when he was 40x weaker than him.
Granted, Frieza was dicking around, but that shows how good Goku was at fighting compared to him.
And Piccolo was on a similar skill level to Goku at this point in the series.

what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseI'm not sure if he could have killed him if he'd gone all out.
I'm pretty sure, even if one dude is holding back a lot, if he's stronger, than no matter how much he fucked around, a weaker character can't kill a stronger character unless Sorbet uses his laser gun EVER.
The Saibabman was weaker than Yamcha.

what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseYou've really misinterpreted Goku vs Freeza. Freeza was only using a tiny amount of power to begin with, when he raised himself to 50% (60 million) Goku couldn't touch him with even the Kaio-ken x10 (30 million) and Freeza was still dicking around.
Goku then had to double his power to even hit Freeza, so Freeza isn't so unskilled that he'd be defeated by someone much weaker than him.
I don't believe Piccolo would be able to defeat Freeza. The idea of him being much more skilled isn't really backed by anything.
....
Yeah, you're right.
Still, Nappa was quite freakishly tough for his power level.

what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseNappa was a rock, a tough unbreakable rock that only got slight surface cracks.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Piccolo is an alien in a series where every alien race is stronger than humans.
Nappa was quite quickly and easily beaten by Goku, which wouldn't have happened if Goku was only about 20% stronger.
So no, your personal estimates are completely wrong, especially considering 4000 and 3500 are the official numbers.

I remember Kami saying telling Piccolo Jr. that he was always the weaker half during that tournament they were both in. So old Kami being stronger than young Daimaou is probably a thing.
