I'm still curious on how Goten and Trunks's little adventure ties into this. If we're really starting a recap of Bo G...what's with those scenes? They're clearly from the first few episodes.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby! Here's a whole bunch of information that was revealed in an interview with Toriyama in the full-color volumes of the DB manga. I posted some of this already but there's a lot more than I thought there was so here goes. Some of you may know some of these already, of course.
- Goku was 24 at the start of the "Z" portion of the story.
- Goku's tail was permanently removed, by Kami, offscreen when Goku was 15.
- Despite Nappa being stronger than Raditz, they're actually of the same rank in the PTO, and both report directly to Vegeta.
- Vegeta, Nappa, and Raditz's power levels were 18,000, 4000, and 1500 respectively during the Saiyan Saga.
- The maximum power level a scouter can measure is around 22,000, or in Zarbon and Dodoria's ballpark.
- Saiyan spaceships are "cramped, but easy on the body." The Saiyan inside is actually asleep until they reach their destination.
- Toriyama gets asked what, exactly, Mr. Popo is. He dodges the question, saying he's simply Kami's attendant and a martial arts master.
- King Kai's planet used to be 100 times as large, but Beerus destroyed it because King Kai beat him at video games. King Kai fashioned one of the chunks into a new planet.
- Goku's hair was based on Astro Boy's.
- Toriyama had Goku lose his tail because it was a pain to draw.
- Future Gohan lost an arm to the Androids before he trained Trunks.
- Dr. Gero was one of the founders of the Red Ribbon Army, and supplied not just Androids but all the tech. He was something of a "power behind the throne" to Commander Red.
- Lapis and Lazuli bumped into Gero by pure chance, so he kidnapped them to use as test subjects.
- Androids 1-7 and 9-12 were entirely artificial. Their personality matrices all had bugs.
- Goku trained in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber offscreen before the 23rd Tournament, which is how he knew about it. This is apparently where he got taller...
- Android 16 was modeled after Gero's late son, whom he still loved. To make sure he would never be destroyed Gero made him the strongest, but gentlest of his creations.
- #19 was modeled after a doll that Gero took as a spoil of war from the house of an enemy of Red Ribbon.
- Toriyama's favorite Android is... Semi-Perfect Cell!
- King Furry is a good ruler, despite being a dog.
- Mr. Satan was already very rich by the point of the Cell Games.
- 17 has visited his sister and brother-in-law, but he neglected to mention he's now a park ranger because he didn't want his sister to think he'd gone soft.
- The designs of the Budokai stadium were based on Balinese architecture.
- Toriyama's favorite fight in the series is, of all things, Goku vs. Tien.
- Anyone can fuse, as long as their size and power is about the same. It's hard to master, though.
- Toriyama has practiced the Fusion Dance himself.
- All of Babidi's tech was magically created by him. He recruits followers by summoning those with evil hearts to him.
- Babidi was "born" by Bibidi dividing himself in two, with each side gaining half the original's magic power. When Supreme Kai killed Bibidi, Babidi got it all.
- Most of the citizens of the Demon Realm are evil sorcerers seeking refuge there.
- The scene where 17 gives his energy to Goku was originally going to be Launch.
- Kais (or rather, Shin-jins) have a life expectancy of around 75,000 years and there are around 80 of them at a time. The tree they're born from is in a place called "Core Planet."

So I guess that scene with Kid Goku in the HTC from the anime is canon now?

My various fanfics. Some of that we knew, some of it was new.....for me at least.
So if the earlier Androids were all purely mechanical, but 8, 16, 17, 18, and 19 were all actually cyborgs (though 19 was still more mechanical than that), then I suppose Gero believed that those models were the strongest.
Though it seems his androids have bugs no matter what.
One Strip! One Strip!I guess TFS had the right idea with their characterization of 16. A really nice guy, who just really wants to murder Son Goku.
My various fanfics. The Kanzenshuu podcast brought up an interesting idea about Champa: what if he was a previous God of Destruction in this universe? Whis offers Goku the role of God of Destruction once Beerus dies, hinting that there are predecessors and successors. Champa might have been a predecessor who retired instead of dying, or maybe he faked his own death, or SOMETHING.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby! What about the female Whis?
Anyway.
...Didn't Frieza say his second form was measured at 1 million? and Frieza's first form had the "530,000" line.
I got the distinct impression that Scouters can measure as high a power level as you want as long as it doesn't start rising really quickly.
Everyone in space was confused by the idea that power levels could be hidden or suddenly increase.
Also, the fact that Toriyama said 9-12 and not 9-15 makes me think he counts that movie.
Which I think is interesting.

Every statement you made is true. I think 100% Power Final Form Freeza is 100 million while SSJ Goku is 120 million.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!![]()
The Scouters Nappa and Vegeta had could measure up to 22,000, but new models are apparently always being developed. Though that still doesn't explain how Frieza knew his beforehand I guess.
Close. 100% Frieza is 120 mil, SS Goku is 150 mil. So there's a pretty big gap between them. Supposedly, any scene in that fight where Frieza seems to be winning is filler.

There are presumably other ways to gauge powerlevel than just scouters. Anyone remember that scene in the anime when some doods at a lab somewhere are trying to gauge Goku and Freeza's powerlevels while they fought and everything went boom? They probably used that lab or something like it to gauge Freeza's powerlevel of 1,000,000.
And as for the female Whis... I dunno. It's a female Whis. It probably needs as much justification as Whis does.
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariTrue, true.
It makes sense the scouters only blow up when the power levels start rising really quickly. After all, that seems to be an Earth-only ability. For the aliens, the only way to increase their power level was to transform.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby! Those were new models, though. And they didn't explode when Goku used the basic Kaioken, even though that instantly doubled his power.

himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariWell...duh. Cell is like, a jillion times stronger than all of them put together.
My various fanfics.

I imagine that stuff will happen as it did in the movie, except Whis insists on visiting a few planets first. After they're done with it, Beerus goes "Now can we please check that Super Saiyan God thing?". This way, we can have glimpses of characters' lives on earth, while simultaneously showing scenes with Beerus and Whis being themselves, before they all meet.
