If it were because of incompatible color schemes, that would make sense, but in Goku's case... he's still wearing the dark orange/red.
Being a fabulous person, I'm sure Whis would be in favor of contrast...

So, did anyone else notice that Toriyama's style changed a lot? Looking at the Revival of F manga and comparing it to the original, the styles are a lot better, strangely enough it looks way more amateur-ish now?

This shall be my true, Start of DarknessThe Revival of F manga wasn't drawn by Toriyama.
At least Gohan had the title of being the strongest of the B-Team.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!To be fair, Piccolo got outclassed pretty quickly the previous time he got a fusion powerup, too.
Krillin in DBZA was right. Zenkai is just hax. It's the one plot point I wish they could have just removed. It's just too easy.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby! The first fusion was just with some random (albeit really strong) guy. The second had Myth Arc significance.
Now that you mention it, it's actually quite appropriate.

It was after the Namek Saga.

And to be clear, I don't blame editors and executives for everything I disagree with in a story. Just when a plot changes direction that fast one has to wonder, you know? I was apparently right about Aki Izayoi and I wonder if I'm right here.
Hm...you might be right. Piccolo wouldn't have been able to beat Cell, though. He's not important enough to get the kill. But perhaps the whole 'Imperfect Cell gets stronger than Piccolo through absorbing people' was a quick decision.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!Piccolo wouldn't need to be weaker than Cell for that.
Hell, I don't think they're that far in terms of power. How many humans did Cell eat? I seem to recall something about 600,000 being an approximate number or something. Anyway, that'd be, what, ~3,000,000 in terms of powerlevel? Not that big a deal when we're talking about people who are in the hundreds of millions.

And yea, Piccolo being quickly outclassed despite fusing with Kami isn't too surprising; anyone with any sense of Genre Savvy knew he wasn't gonna stay stronger than the saiyans for long.
I do admit though, it is kind of a shame considering Piccolo's fusing with Kami is the perfect conclusion to his character arc, but then goes on to subsequently be relegated to jobber and babysitter.
Ugh, sometimes I wish Dragon Ball wasn't the codifier for battle shonen, because that genre tends to have a lot of cliches that I seriously hate. And I say this as somebody who considers Shonen their favorite demographic.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.So if DBS does indeed contain fighting and not just Goten and Trunks buying presents for Videl, I've decided my number one wish for the show is henchmen. And not just PTO goons or Babidi's Little Green Men, I'm talking about the One Piece style of henchman with bits of development and distinct fight scenes.
Why?
Because henchmen give weaker characters stuff to do in a fighting series. Plus, Oda's borrowed so much from Toriyama, I don't see why Toriyama can't borrow right back.
And before anyone asks, yes, the ask on duhragonball on this subject was me
Quirky Mini Boss Squad? Its kind funny how a trope that is so abundant in Shonen nowadays was only really used once in this series.
We don't really know how the Power Creep is going to be in the series though, especially since the new movies have kinda messed it up.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I mean the characters who've already been mostly left behind. So the Big Bad brings along an underling who's about even with Krillin, another with Piccolo, another with 18, and so forth.
That's a bit too convenient.
I agree with you (you have the characters, so give them something to do), but it's pretty convenient.
One Strip! One Strip! One Piece has nowhere near as blatant Power Creep as Dragon Ball does, in fact they're not even comparable because they don't rely on Power Levels like this series does.
Crocodile shows to be just as dangerous as he was when Luffy fought him, long after his stint as Big Bad and when more powerful characters have been introduced.
Dragon Ball, by comparison, plays the Sorting Algorithm of Evil annoyingly straight in that the main characters will eventually outpace any previous antagonist despite struggling against them before. Its why Frieza & Cell are reduced to jokes in Dragon Ball GT. Hell, they had to give Frieza an entirely new power up just so he wouldn't immediately die by Goku & Vegeta's new god powers and he still can't beat them, although it wasn't because he was weaker.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. You're talking about main villains, though. Of course Power Creep is going to hit them. Why can't there be Krillin level minor villains about? And need I remind you that at 75k power, Krillin is ridiculously strong for a mortal.

I thought that was simple. They have new outfits because blue hair would clash too much with their old outfits.
