Wait, so Uub happens after Beerus?
I was wondering why I hadn't seen him.
Also, that timeline is pretty cool.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseThe final episode takes place after a 10-year timeskip. Goten and Trunks are now teenagers, Gohan and Videl are married with precocious daughter Pan, and Vegeta and Bulma have their second child Bra.
Meanwhile, Battle of Gods features Videl informing Gohan that she's pregnant with Pan, only one Briefs child, and Goten and Trunks still being excitable prepubescent kids. Uub exists but he's not going to meet Goku and the others at the Tenkaichi Budokai for a few more years yet.

And 1996 was also when most Americans were first introduced to DBZ.
Yeah, all Briefs family members are named for underwear, a running joke that's been part of the series ever since we met Bloomers/Bulma.
Naming people after things is one of Toriyama's favorite gags, which is why most of the humans are foods, the Red Ribbon Army are colors, Saiyans are vegetables, assorted Frieza servants are fruits, the Ginyu Force are dairy products, Frieza himself is the freezer the food is stored in, etc.
And, of course, the Bibidi Babidi Buu gag.
And now we have Beerus and Whiskey.
Toriyama loves this joke.

what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseIs there a Hidden Potential trope? There's Time To Unlock More Potential ,but it's not exactly the same.Unless it's the Child Prodigy trope.
- TRUNKS: You never talk about dad.
- BULMA: He was...a loner? Had a lot of trouble making friends....
- TRUNKS: Am I anything like him?
- BULMA: ...you have his gender.

Bulma's side of the relationship always made sense to me. Vegeta is literally a prince, and she was lamenting missing the boat on Goku not long before inviting Vegeta and the Namekians to crash at her place. Jumping into bed with the man sleeping on her couch who is like Goku but a PRINCE was inevitable.
Vegeta, on the other hand, seems like a really hard guy to tie down. Because he is. He knocked up Bulma and then flew off to go do his training, and was apathetic at best and downright malicious at worst to both her and Trunks throughout the Cell Saga. If his relationship with Future Trunks hadn't taught him to value his family, Vegeta would be the one receiving all the "shittiest dad" jokes.
