That's because I found what I said funny. I did it for the lolz.
My point proven. No offense, Hamburger Time.
But Satan is the greatest master! You cannot deny this!
Praise be to Satan! SATAN! SATAN! SATAN! SATAN! SATAN! SATAN! SATAN! C'mon, y'all, hail Satan!
...man, I hope TFS has a lot of fun with that moment.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.You know, the anime really didn't need to put every piece of dialogue from the manga. If a character says "I can barely follow their movements", it was just there to explain to the audience that they're really, really fast, because that's hard to show in manga. If the fight is animated in a way that makes it look just as fast...what's the point of keeping the dialogue in? The animation itself is already doing a good job explaining it.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!Because showing people moving invisibly just wasn't enough anymore, because the characters had been doing that shit since the first World Martial Arts Tournament. So they pretty much had to include a lot of those seemingly useless lines.
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariCan I say I really like King Yemma? Seeing him treat Kami like You, Get Me Coffee in his first appearance was hilarious and really serves to set up how high the divine pecking order goes.
Also interesting: Kibito is supposedly stronger than all the lesser Kais (Word of God says he's even with base Teen Gohan) yet isn't a Kai himself.
@kkohoho
While Satan is generally more reasonable than God (because God Is Evil) in Shin Megami Tensei, it's more like Lucifer saves the world.
And getting them confused or treating them like the same person is a surefire way to get killed in a very messy way.

The Shin-jin are born from the fruit of a special tree (one that I think is actually in Tokitoki). Every other forever, there's a special golden fruit that will become a Kaioushin. Kibito is somewhere between the regular fruit and golden fruit.

I explained it a couple pages ago but here goes. This info's from a recent databook that came out around the same time as the OVA with Abo and Kado.
- The Kais' species are called the Shin-jins. They're native to Other World and are born from the fruits of a magical tree that grows there.
- Most often, the tree produces red fruits that grow into normal-powered Shin-jin like King Kai. Very rarely, however, it'll sprout a golden fruit, and the resulting Shin-jin will be much stronger than normal. Only these Shin-jin are allowed to become Supreme Kais.
- When a Kai dies (which apparently does happen after a good long while) a replacement is selected by lot from all the other Shin-jin.
- There are ~45-50 Shin-jin at a time who are not holding an active Kai position. In the series itself, Kibito is the only one of these we see.

So the Supreme Kai of Time controls the reproduction of the entire rest of their species.
Huh.
...Of course, if we include some of the stuff alluded to in Tree of Might, Turles ate God fetuses.

Well, she doesn't, not really. She... actually doesn't seem to control anything in Tokitoki. The one with the powers over time is the bird, not her. Furthermore, it's pretty clear that, much like the other Supreme Kai, she's vastly outclassed by the main cast (and DEMON GOD DUMPLIN, but then again, who isn't?).
There's also the tree in HFIL. I think it had red fruit, but I'm not sure.

Since I've been doing a psychology course at university as an elective, my side project has been to try and work out if and how the situations Gohan had to go through would affect his development. Obviously, being exposed to situations of violence from a young age would have affected him a lot. Not to mention the 6 months of isolation from human contact, and all the injuries he would have gotten from fighting.
I also keep thinking of DBZA: "Wouldn't that cause horrible muscular degeneration for someone my age?"
I know I shouldn't be thinking about it like this. Toriyama wasn't thinking about in-depth psychological development. I just can't help myself.
Also, surely becoming a Super Saiyan would be the most terrifying thing ever. I mean, Goku and Vegeta were too thrilled that it made them stronger, but...I mean, you lose a bit of control when it happens. No wonder Goku decided to make being comfortable with it a priority.
