Weirder? Not quite.
Now, suffering from a more obvious and noticeable problem with power escalation? Yes. A lot.
Also, Gojira, you don't get it. Superman is consistently portrayed as having no upper limit on his strength. I'm not talking about DC One Million. I'm talking about the fact that Superman has absolutely no upper limits on his strength. If he gets very close to the sun, he gets supercharged to the point that there's really nothing that can be a threat to him. Motherfucker can destroy the universe whenever he likes, and the only reason why he can be defeated is that the writers force circumstances to give his enemies an opening to beat him.
He's called 'Supersue' and 'Sueperman' for a reason.

Thank you! I tell people almost exactly that all the frakking time! That's one of my main problems with Superman vs anyone fights. It's not a fight, it's a goddamn joke. Even his weakness isn't a weakness! Half the time i've seen him near that green shit, he just seems like he needs a nap or something.

What started out as a pleasant afternoon of drugs and surgery has not gone as planned.Except, Superman does have limits, there are multiple stories that show he has limits, and even the Earth bench-press in New 52 had him saying he does have limits, they are just poorly defined and so high that no one could measure them, but he does have limits. Hell, him having limits was the whole idea for the writers Post-Crisis, as an attempt to distance themselves from Silver Age Superman.
Also, this leads to a bit of irony since Toriyama has said that Saiyans don't have limits, and that given enough time and training they can overcome anything. So yeah, Superman has limits, but Goku doesn't.

Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!It's hilarious, because it's the other way around.
Goku has limits. Eventually, his body gives out and he can't do anymore. He lost to Beerus because he has limits that he has to overcome before he can surmount a challenge.
Post Crisis Superman was burdened by subconscious limits he had placed on himself. The only thing that stopped Superman from curbstomping everything and ending crime forever was, well, Superman.
Let's put it this way, shall we?
Goku has limits. He needs to train to overcome them. The limits are on his body. Within his mind, he has no limits. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Superman has limits. He needs to psyche himself to overcome them. The limits are on his mind. His body, however, has no such limits. The flesh is strong, but the spirit is restrained.
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariWell, the modern Animated Superman had very clear limits, at the very least. Even his famous "World of Cardboard" Speech moment after seasons and seasons of being a glorified whipping boy ended up with Darkseid dominating him anyway.

I don't know what it is about Dragon Ball, but I feel like that weirdness is different. Maybe it's because it's a lot more simple to understand. And there's only one writer (discounting GT). But, either way, I feel like it's easier to get into.
And are we really doing Goku vs Superman? STILL? Is this debate ever going to go to rest?
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!Hmm, I can't help but feel me mentioning Kirby vs Buu led to all this. Oh well, i'm sure someone else is to blame here.
So, this! http://imgur.com/gallery/cwyVCFn
So long as both characters continue to exist, I doubt it'll ever end. Or if one of their creators says the other is stronger. Is the guy that made Superman still alive? Who is he anyway?

Granted, Darkseid was also being augmented by Brainiac, and considering what he did for Luthor…
Again, Toriyama said that Saiyans don't have limits, and that given enough time they could overcome anything; this basically means that Goku could surpass even Beerus in the future.
Then Goku would win easily, since the Superman made by the original creator was maybe a challenge for 12 year-old Goku.

Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!Although there IS a limit as to how strong Goku can be. It's what happens when he dies. Toriyama's stated a Saiyan lifespan isn't that much longer than an average human (although Goku's been dead for a few years, so that will help him a bit). How long does Superman live?

Pre New 52, Superman was capable of living forever if he felt so inclined.
Post New 52, though... we don't know.
I have to wonder. Did you read the manga?
'Cause, you know, it very clearly explains that, due to a special exception, Goku gets to keep his body in the afterlife. That's why it transfers overs.

himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariYeah, but when he dies from natural causes, he's dead for good. It doesn't matter how strong he gets, even if he DOES get to keep his body. He's not coming back.

Seems you get a body in the afterlife if you're either really good (so they want you to be able to stick around and get swole), or really evil (so they want to torture you in Hell for a while before reincarnating).
I have a message from another time...I do read and like comics and I think they're far weirder than Dragon Ball. It'd be like if dozens of Toriyamas with completely different ideas took turns writing Dragon Ball over 50 years.

I never claimed Dragon Ball wasn't weird. Comics are just weirder to me. I also don't care that much about comics so their weirdness puts me off more than DB weirdness.
