I've seen a lot of calculations done and the most consistent result I've seen is that assuming 139 was Roshi's battle power, a battle power of 11,000 would be enough to destroy the Earth and it'd take like like 3.5 billion to destroy the sun.

The discussion is pointless. What is relevant is:
Calculations-wise, how can you not see the flaw in your numbers? Not only do they contradict the canon by being numbers far greater than Vegeta's battle power on Earth, but they also assume that the amount of Joules required to destroy Earth/moon can be converted neatly into ki. That's just a silly assumption to make when we see how weird ki works.
Finally, fan calculations mean nothing. What matters is Piccolo would have been too weak to destroy Earth.
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."Outliers exist for a reason.
Master Roshi destroying the moon is one of them, as he needed to bulk up and had to charge up quite a bit to do so. In the time it would take, he would already be killed by King piccolo or above, so it wouldn't matter.

It's "official". His power level given was 100, but that's clearly rubbish. The DBZ Movie 3 Pamphlet also places every single member of the Red Ribbon Army above Roshi, and Colonel Silver as greater than even Oozaru Goku.

"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."Start of series Oozaru Goku would have a battle power of 100. I can't see any of those guys being stronger. These are the battle powers from that pamphlet:
- Sergeant Metallic: 150
- Colonel Silver: 200
- Captain Violet: 150
- General White: 150
- General Blue: 180
- Assistant Black: 150
- Commander Red: 100
And let's not forget that Roshi's canon battle power is 139, and Tenshinhan's canon BP was 180.
Yeah, I was helping out HT. Commander Red having a BP of 100 was from that pamphlet as well.

"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."Um, that's Oozaru Goku prior to training with Roshi.
Or is that the point.
Ah, I see, I can see why, none of them can destroy the moon unlike Roshi's outlier. I see.

Watch SymphogearTao Pai Pai outpowered everyone in the Red Ribbon Army by a margin so huge that Commander Red spent a veritable fortune on him.
And he's still significantly weaker than Tenshinhan.
So, that pamphlet or whatever it was is waaaaaaaaaay off.
I doubt Commander Red breaks into double digits. Hell, I doubt he reaches Farmer With A Shotgun's powerlevel.

A basic flaw your argument has is that you assume that Ki Blasts work in a way we can understand. They don't. We don't know how Ki Blasts work, for the most part.
What we do know is that Vegeta was confident he could destroy Earth, with a powerlevel of 18000, and I'm inclined to trust him on this by virtue of the fact that I'm absolutely certain he has to have destroyed one or two planets like Earth at some point in his life.
