No, Vegeta is unaware of those events and clearly draws the comparison as if Piccolo was unchanged.

You cannot honestly think Vegeta would have been okay with it or think it was less bullshit if he knew about the fusion with Nail.

As cute as it is that you think he'd care, it's still a less than accurate assessment of Vegeta's character.

We actually see his reaction to the fusion with Kami.

He doesn't seem to want to hear what happened, and what he does hear just makes him yell louder.

And, this is why Power Levels are bullshit. They have brainwashed you so much that you don't even understand jokes anymore.

Kaiser, Lani, Taka, and the other TFS guys have used "Power Levels are bullshit" before, and once Lani took the time to explain that the joke was that Power Levels in DBZ are, in fact, bullshit.

There's no need to be patronizing here.

I'm aware of what TFS meant by their joke. But intent and result don't always end up the same. The joke actually makes more sense coming from Vegeta's ignorance, which is a result of TFS' own ignorance.

Yeah, Vegeta wouldn't want to accept anything that makes Piccolo stronger than him. That also does absolutely nothing to back up what he says - if anything, that makes him less credible. He'd call something bullshit purely for not going his way.

I'm not brainwashed. I just realized it's way funnier and more accurate as a commentary on the "battle powers are bullshit" crowd, because like Vegeta, they're deliberately ignorant of what they decry. Kaiser even professes that he is deliberately ignorant of this topic, and still tries to make that argument.

Oh like that's stopped anyone here when it's been directed at me.

The topic is kind of bullshit.

How much does Vegeta weigh?

I think one reason I've come to really hate the continuing power-level-as-numbers thing is the way these sorts of arguments about its merit keep happening.

Then again, if we just stuck to the characters generally going "Whoa! He's strong!", then that sort of hostility would just crop up in the form of shouting matches about who's really stronger, with even less hard info on both side.

So, I don't even really know what setup would result in a decent place to chat with a minimum amount of people going "Actually...".

I have a message from another time...

If Vegeta knew about the situation I doubt he would think it's bullshit. Yeah he'd still be pissed off but he wouldn't think it came out of nowhere. The joke probably is just aimed at power levels in general but I think I agree with Saiga that it makes more sense and works better with Vegeta just not knowing what's going on.

[up][up][up] I honestly haven't seen anyone be patronizing to you around here. And that still wouldn't make it right for you to do so.

[up][up] When you start out by declaring something is bullshit, things probably aren't going to get better from there.

So is it true that David Eddings did a character in one of TFS's movies that sounds exactly like Claptrap? I just heard that and now I want to see it. I friggin love Claptrap.

From looking at the character...my first guess is to Abridged Cooler movie 2...the return of Cooler.

That Robot character...who looks kind of similar.

Then I confirmed it with samples.

It was not worth putting up with most of the characters voices. I was also under the impression that Eddings would have more lines, but nope. Now i'm disappointed.

The easiest way to write Goku out of the story is just to not have Goku be involved in the story. The advantage of changing protagonists means you don't need to keep escalating the villains. If you're switching viewpoints to Pan or Goten or Yamcha or someone, you don't need a villain who is 20x as powerful as Majin Buu, especially when it's already established behavior for Goku that he likes to let other people try their hand at stuff.

If you're worried about "Well, Goku could just swoop in and break this villain's neck whenever he wants," bring drama-reducing Fridge Logic, make "Goku Solves It For You" part of the Failure Condition for your protagonist.

  • GOKU: Hey, I'm here to save the day.
  • PAN: No! I can do this! I'm just as good as the rest of you!

Goku doesn't need a plot device to excise him from the story. He is more than willing to step aside and let other people have the spotlight, provided he has a writer that is willing to let him.

[up][up][up] I think I like TFS a little more than some of the official dub voices so I'm going to never mind.

[up][up] In my theoretical version of GT the first arc is a road trip with Goten, Trunks, Pan, Bra, Marron and Uub. In space.

Also, Marron would totally have nanomachines and be really strong and the first student of Krillin's new Turtle School because nyeh. Bra would be a Super Saiyan and a genius, Pan would be a Super Saiyan 2 already. Trunks and Goten wouldn't be because they'd have been busy with other things.

One thing I liked about the Grand Tour aspect of GT was Trunks trying and miserably failing to be the responsible adult. It's one of the things I like about Time Patrol Trunks in Xenoverse. It's kinda funny.

Instead of the Black Star Dragon Balls existing I'd move up the Shadow Dragons. Have them decide to go over the galaxy for the lulz.

Quick question for Saiga: Did the Eternal Dragons exist as their own creatures before the Namekians created the Dragon Balls or are they just sentient magical constructs?

Either way, I'm imagining just ditching the negative energy stuff from GT and just have the Shadow Dragons be the result of Shenron just deciding he's sick of a life of slavery and being brought out every year or so, sometimes shorter now that the balls can be recharged in like a month, and decides to go have fun somewhere else.

Shortly afterwards, a completely unrelated ki blast from the Namek or Frieza sagas that missed or was deflected into space hits Earth and decimates a population center. Maybe the one Gohan used on third form Frieza.

I think that would be funny in a dark way.

On an unrelated note, Goku as a Super Saiyan 3, supposedly 400 times stronger than he was in base, was about as strong as Kid Buu.

By the end, Goku in base still wasn't as strong as Final Form Frieza.

It seemed like Uub was about exactly as strong as Kid Buu was. So if he learned the kaioken that would be kinda fucking broken.

One Uub was already about as strong as 400 Buu Saga Gokus.

I can math too. I hate the very concept I'm mathing about, but.

...And now I hate myself a little more. Thanks, power levels.

I mean. That's just some ideas I had in like five or ten minutes. Most actual writers take days, weeks, or months to iron out the details of their stories, the end products of which sometimes barely resemble the original outlines.

I read someone that thought that the reason Toriyama's been involved in things like Online and the two new movies was because of Dragon Ball Evolution and how massively and humiliatingly that bombed. And in some ways Toriyama feels sort of shamed for that. He didn't have anything to do with it, but in some ways that makes it worse maybe. If he'd been more hands on. Who knows. It'd probably have still sucked anyway.

But regardless. I mean.

...I can't quite remember the exact argument now. Either way.

I like what I've read of Dragon Ball Online's story. I think it's sorta interesting. I like Xenoverse a fair bit.

GT was sorta part of the downward spiral of the series. So these things might not have happened if not for that.

Sitcom.
