But it's not the power disparity that was disappointing for me, it was the complete lack of any meaningful character interaction. Nappa, Vegeta's right-hand thug, the most brutal remnant of his past, and the Saiyan closest to him in power for all his childhood and early adulthood years... and he goes out with one "you're a bitch. You've always been a bitch. Die." That was... rather underwhelming.

Seriously.
At this point in the story, we're expected to believe that Vegeta has turned his entire life around. He's over shit like helping Cell absorb 18 or having Babidi empower him. He's made peace with Goku's strength, finally let go of his darker ambitions, and settled in to be a family man with the people he loves.
And then here comes Nappa, his right-hand man for many years of his life, who died without ever getting a chance at what Vegeta's had because Vegeta himself murdered him because his broken spine made him not a badass awesome fighter anymore - an act so horrible and cruel that even Nappa was completely blindsided by it. Does the thought that Nappa deserves the same shot at happiness Vegeta never deserved but got anyway even cross his mind?
Nope. Just "Die, f*ckface, die." What GT is inadvertently telling us is that even at his best, Vegeta is still a brutal monster.
...man, now I want to see Battle of Gods Vegeta meet GT Vegeta.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Yes.
Vegeta once blew up a stadium full of onlookers to motivate Goku into fighting him, and that's the least of his crimes. Remember when he murdered an entire village of Namekians to get a Dragon Ball, then taunted the resurrected Namekians about the fact that the village he slaughtered didn't get revived?
Vegeta has had countless unearned opportunities to turn his life around despite being one of the most despicable, merciless, pointlessly cruel characters in the entire franchise. Nappa deserved at least an attempt.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Point taken but Nappa has done awful things too, has done it all with glee and, upon returning from Hell, set ablaze an entire city with a smile on his face. I doubt he would pull a Heel-Face turn, especially because Vegeta's own took forever.

Nautolan picture belongs to Bonesmarinated on twitterJust because Vegeta was given multiple chances he didn't deserve doesn't mean Nappa should be given a chance he also didn't deserve. Them acting stupid with Vegeta doesn't mean Vegeta should be stupid with him. Admittedly it's not like Nappa was an actual threat at that point but still.
And yeah, he just gleefully blew up a city and was still pissed at Vegeta for killing him, doubt anything was going to get through to him.
Guys, guys, why are we even debating GT in the first place? It's Fanon Discontinuity

The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby! They'd be like "Oh, crap, we forgot about that!"
And then they'd kill him easily, after making sure he's just as much of a sadistic bastard as the other timeline.
...although, who knows? Maybe that Cell wouldn't be as evil. Like the Androids.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!Super Electric Strike hits really damn hard on my female Ki Saiyan. I'm sorry I couldn't use it before the Nerf.
Perfect Shot is really good too.
I gave it to Papaya because I try to use Mentor moves as much as possible to master them quicker, and proceeded to watch it consistently deal almost as much damage as an Ultimate with a much faster charge time.
My "F*ck this, I'm done" tactic with her used to be turning Super Saiyan and spamming Ultimates until everything is dead, but I might start spamming Perfect Shot in those incidents now.

I was actually kinda embarrassed when I learned you can prolong the duration of Super Saiyan/Vegeta which made me feel very silly.

Being allowed to train? Evidently not. But keeping your body? Apparently if they want you to suffer.
I have a message from another time...Before or after he ate the fruit?
And, actually, he eats two fruit during the movie, so.
According to Turles's scouter, Goku had a power level of 30,000 when they started fighting, and Goku was winning at first. Then Turles ate some fruit and got stronger and beat Goku's Kaioken X10. Or X20.
Then he ate another fruit later because of reasons.

I only remember the second one that lets him slap the shit out of times 20 Kaioken Goku.
My various fanfics.

There's no reason Nappa and Vegeta even needed to fight at all. Nappa was Vegeta's pet thug. Vegeta could be like, "Hey, we're kicking it on Earth now," and Nappa would be like, "Bitchin'," and then they'd be done with that.
GT somehow forgot that Vegeta was by far the most evil of the three Evil Saiyans. Raditz and Nappa were bastards too, but Vegeta an evil monster even by Saiyan standards, and having Heroic Redeemed Vegeta fight Still Villainous Nappa is just shining a spotlight on how unfair the opportunities Vegeta got are.
