It seems that many people hated the saiyans tho, so even without Beerus or Frieza, someone would've tried to fry them.
Also, I hate how every Z-soul I has decrease the Kikohas by a huge amount. I just want to fry people with a perfect kamehameha, dammit.

Nautolan picture belongs to Bonesmarinated on twitterI'm not sure how this is supposed to be a rebuttal. I never said the saiyans shouldn't have been killed by anyone, I just don't like the decision to retcon the story behind Planet Vegeta's destruction. Instead of Frieza blowing up the planet out of fear of a Super Saiyan. He was...ordered by Beerus to do it.
It wasn't really a rebuttal tho, it's just that people hated them.
And yes, Frieza doing it because of Beerus is anticlimatic but we can assume that the order was just the thing he needed to push forward and end them. Or to make the audience goes all "this guy was ordering frieza around, he's some tough guy."
Nautolan picture belongs to Bonesmarinated on twitterSo your point is that it doesn't matter who performed the saiyan genocide?
That's the main reason I don't like the retcon. Beerus is already the second strongest character in the known franchise, he didn't need that kind of Character Shilling to look like a threat, and he really didn't need to intrude on one of Freiza's best moments to do so. I also think it takes away from Vegeta and Goku's battles with Freiza on Namek(thou not make them entirely pointless, as the goal of Namek was to use the Namekian Dragonballs).
Did the movie say that? The translation I watched had Whis inform Beerus that Vegeta had been destroyed and Beerus was all like "Freeza, right? How arrogant. He better turn that ego down, or I'm destroying him."
I mean, Beerus looked pleased in Vegeta's flashback, what did he have against the Saiyans? And why would he order someone else to do it when he can do it himself, and right away?
The subs I read also had Beerus say he ordered Frieza to do it. He thought King Vegeta was rude when he visited (and in a flashback we see the king bowing and I think literally letting Beerus rest his feet on him, so that tells you what Beerus defines as "rude") so he decided he wanted the planet gone.

Beerus has dem mood swings, maybe a stray saiyan pissed him off enough to ask for Frieza to kill the entire race, or he just felt that the saiyans were dangerous for the universe, even if he's way more dangerous than the entire rare combined, and that caring about the universe isn't his job.

x5: Oh, one of those dub-induced changes. That does sound very unnecessary, especially since it makes Beerus look like he sucks at his job: a God of Destruction that doesn't carry out destruction himself is laughable.
I see other translations did that, too. Still feels dumb. Not only could he carry out destruction himself, what he considered "rude" on earth was "not having food". He was pretty much indifferent to everything else.

I was about to agree with it being Dub Text but then LSBK posted.
I mean, I guess he is basically an oversized cat. They're kind of fickle and mercurial.
...I wonder what would happen if he met Korin.
Probably not much, really.
EDIT: On the subject of Xenoverse, I think I just read that the next DLC pack will have new costumes for some of the regular characters. Including Pan.
...Kinda hope that one of them will let her go Super Saiyan.
Just. Argh.
Alternatively, a Great Saiyagirl costume would be hilarious.
...Wait, Revival of F seems to indicate that Gohan doesn't still dress up and beat up regular criminals while making wacky poses. And that Videl doesn't join in.
This is an outrage.
EDIT: Kinda wish that beating Demigra would have unlocked more things in the shop.
There are some Z Souls I really wish I had the option to just buy.

Beerus being responsible for the destruction of Planet Vegeta does fill a Fridge Logic hole in Frieza's characterization, though: the fact that he was using the Saiyans in the first place. We know that the Saiyans were planet brokers for Frieza and we know that he destroyed their planet out of fear of the Super Saiyan legend, but what exactly happened to prompt that?
- MONDAY: "Ahh, it's good to have Saiyans killing planets for me. They're pretty sweet."
- TUESDAY: "Another genocide completed! Keep up the good work, Saiyans."
- WEDNESDAY: "Ooh, the Saiyans got me a good planet today. Life is good."
- THURSDAY: "THE SAIYANS MUST DIE! I will annihilate every last member of their entire species! Not one monkey can be allowed to live!"
Like, if they were a rival group or something, that'd make sense, but the Saiyans serving Frieza loyally until Frieza suddenly, out of nowhere, flipped the f*ck out and destroyed their planet? The hell happened?

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.
x9 I'm not entirely sure if Beerus even started the movie as a villain. I'm pretty sure he falls under Blue-and-Orange Morality.
He's a pretty cool guy. He destroys planets and doesn't afraid of anything.
Maybe Frieza's race is weird biologically speaking and he was on his space period?

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!

...Okay, except when he deserves it.
I'm a bit irritated by how difficult getting some of the Z Souls is.
And by the fact that you need multiples of every piece of equipment for multiple characters to use it. Including the fucking Z Souls.
I like Battle of Gods a lot.
