So wait.
Who did Babidi need energy from?
What kind of energy?
I distinctly remember 17 and 18 contributing to the Spirit Bomb that defeated Buu so they might have one kind of energy but not the other.
I don't think the energy that powers the Spirit Bomb is exactly the same as the stuff the fighters make regular ki blasts and can sense and fly with.
But I seem to remember something about Babidi needing energy from good and/or innocent people?

Xenoverse suggests an interesting plot involving Babadi, wherein the Time Patroller Percel is deling with distortions in the Dragonball era. That era really gets messed up. Like, worse than History of Trunks.
Demon King Piccolo fuses with Kami (destroying the Dragonballs) and his demons fight an unending war with Red Ribbon (who have mass produced androids thanks to the time breakers probably feeding blueprints to Gero). And then Babadi shows up.
I have a message from another time...I assume this happened after he got his youth back, of course. Though, it's true that a considerable bit of the power Piccolo had after fusing with Kami probably was due to Piccolo's own training. And his youth, of course.
As to ruling the universe, well, there's still Buu. And in Percel's story, androids.
I have a message from another time...I honestly wouldn't mind at all if Xenoverse 2 was just Percel: The Game.

himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariIf that timeline's Gero is quick to make an army, I'd say powerful versions Androids 1-19000 plus Metallitron, including completely evil versions of Eighter and 16.
Also, this storyline gives Percel enough cred to get a spot on the roster. He went through all that shit and SAVED his timeline, all alone! At least put this storyline in the sequel, this is too good to waste on some NPC dialogue.

The Daniel Tosh character
is sexist, racist, an idiot, a spendthrift, a womanizer, a manizer etc.
Daniel Tosh the person's a pretty okay guy. Just because you joke about touchy subjects doesn't mean you have no respect for those subjects.
Babidi has no reason to go to Earth in Future Trunks' timeline. Only Trunks is on the planet, as opposed to the myriad of powerful fighters in the main timeline.

"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."The blank card is supposedly for Vegeta. As for why it's a secret at the moment, I have no idea.
It's God Vegeta, isn't it?
I just had the best headcanon. The reason that Bulma decided to come to the fight against the Androids wasn't to be part of the action again. It was so she could show Trunks to Vegeta. She wanted him to face the consequences of his actions head-on.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!Nail and Guru said Piccolo would be that strong when they only knew Freeza's first form.
Babidi didn't go to Trunks' timeline because there wasn't enough energy. The human population was reduced absolutely wouldn't be enough to revive Boo, because it was reduced to a tiny amount.

Oh, that reminds me - Goku's "Saiyan that surpassed God" transformation actually has a mechanic that is used for multiple transformations, and it has been teased that something will happen if you use that card's mechanic in the next update.
So it appears Goku will still have some form of transformation later.
Vegeta already knew about Trunks.

Given the whole comments about how unpredictable this will be coming from people involved in the franchise, I am expecting three outcomes for the movie:
1) Vegeta defeats Freeza after Goku falls, and those involved in the current franchise are stupid enough to actually think this is unexpected. Aka the "every fucking person called this" solution.
2) Toriyama is deliberately making people feel Vegeta will beat Freeza, when that scene of Vegeta looking down on Goku is just to give him a senzu bean and Goku will beat Freeza. Some people might think this is predictable for having Goku win, but that criticism would probably only happen after the fact and from people expecting Vegeta to win.
3) Vegeta and Goku team up to beat Freeza and neither outshine the other. Probably the least predictable method since team-ups of that sort are pretty rare, but with the recent chapter saying Vegeta and Goku need to learn from each other I'm thinking this could be likely.
There's a difference between knowing you fathered a child and seeing that child face-to-face. Perhaps Bulma thought it would influence him. I mean, why else would she bring Trunks to the battle?

@Cortez: That's the plot of Shin Budokai 2, I believe.
