So DLC 3 is going to add Roshi items? Like his beard, staff, shell, and...wait a minute, can't you buy those things in-game already? Yeah, you can I have a character using his staff right now. So really at this point all i'm sure to get is a shirt and Jaco? Lovely. I hope i'm wrong because that seems like a huge ripoff.

Also, does anyone else think race specific tutors would be cool? Majin's get to train and learn Buu's moves, Saiyans get I dunno Bardock or something, Humans get...Roshi? Frieza's clan guys would get Cooler, and Namekians get...King Piccolo? Dende? Moori? I dunno. What moves the ones besides Buu would teach I dunno but they already have race specific moves in game so why not race specific tutors?

What started out as a pleasant afternoon of drugs and surgery has not gone as planned.

You're wrong. You can buy his beard, but the DLC item has an option to have beard + sunglasses since it's a single accessory.

On top of that, they haven't announced what else is in DLC pack 3. But it's not just the Roshi and Jaco stuff, which was only revealed to be part of pack 3 because it was already the Japanese pre-order bonus. The new content of pack 3 is being kept secret.

I don't think race specific tutors would be good because they wouldn't make sense in a lot of cases. What can Roshi only teach to humans? If the mentors were in for everyone but just had some specific options for certain races (Boo/Piccolo teaching unique moves to Majins and Namekians, Goku helping the Saiyans become Super Saiyans) that'd probably work better.

I don't know if it'd be better for the races to be wholly cosmetic, though...

We haven't reached the point in the timeline where Bra would be born. She's younger than Pan.

There's some confusion due to a guidebook printing her birth year as being older than Pan's... but that same guidebook also gave her the correct birth year in another section which coincides with everything else.

Went chasing Tenshinhan in the Saiyan arc, was seen still trying to find him in a Christmas omake during the Namek arc, and then had a planned Boo arc cameo that was scrapped.

That first one was a mention of her when she was offpanel. Which is actually almost more insulting.

I thought the Frieza one was a gag strip done for Shonen Jump.

"Filler" if you will.

Sure, off panel mention but it still accounts for her and shows Toriyama remembered. He just chose to write her out.

That is certainly not the definition of filler. It was done in response to a question about what other characters were doing during the battle with Freeza.

It wasn't in the collected versions.

It's not the definition of filler in the same way that you and I aren't the definition of hypocrites. tongue

I was referring to the Saiyan arc comment which is indeed in the collected versions still. And it doesn't matter, Toriyama can't retroactively forget something because a different company didn't include his tidbit.

It doesn't come close to being filler at all.

...So wait.

One of the Parallel Quests involves helping Guldo join the Ginyu Force.

So. So does that mean Dragon Ball time travel also operates on Stable Time Loop/You Already Changed the Past rules?

The parallel quests are all branching timelines that aren't really explained. In Gurd's case, the timeline change means you need to help him get into the Ginyu Force so everything is correct again.

Did you seriously just write 'Gurd'? Should we start saying 'Bejiita' now?

...Guldo wants to thank me afterwards for helping him by coming back to my place to have cake.

I am instantly regretting this decision.

Can I use time travel to undo it somehow?

[up][up]He doesn't like dub names. I get it, though for this series, it's hard to not feel weird about it.

That sounds totally asinine.

Also, fighting Vegeta's last mentor thingy where he goes Super Saiyan 2 is stupidly difficult and I've given up and switched back to Piccolo for now.

Gurd isn't the same thing at all as Bejita, because Gurd is closer to the pun source while Bejita is further away. Vegeta is also how the name is rendered in English in Japanese materials, Guldo is just from the dub.

I actually try to use Guldo so people don't freak out, not that I should have to because maybe get the fuck over it, but sometimes I don't remember to correct to the dub names.

[up] I think all the mentor final battles are the same difficulty. I have only unlocked (and defeated) Vegeta's so I can't say for myself, though.

After seeing the Steam guide on how races, height, weight and gender effect stats I think I'm going to delete my character and start again. You apparently don't lose anything but levels and attributes, keeping all masters, supers, clothing and story progress etc.

Dunno if I want to give up forty levels though...

Oh, was it? Maybe they get harder depending on when they're meant to be unlocked. Kuririn and Piccolo are there from the beginning, Vegeta requires you to beat the Saiyan arc and reach a certain level, etc.

According to our pages Vegeta's last two missions are unusually difficult.

I was able to get through the third one with recovery items.

But that last one.

His Big Bang Attack does a lot of damage, and I don't know that I can do enough damage to him in five minutes to win.

But I actually want to get back to the part where Guldo just started hitting on me because goddamn that was creepy.

Oh, okay.

I can't remember what his second last mission was, but I beat the final mission on the first try. It was extremely close, can't remember what level I was so I guess that doesn't help you much. I think around 30?

I seem to remember the Latin dub callid him Gurdo or something like that.

I have absolutely no idea why they pronounce Vegeta 'Vegueta', though.

I'm only at 29 still.

Just beat Ginyu and turned him into a frog.

There's a bunch of Namekian Frogs around that fountain where Shenron gets summoned in Toki Toki City, incidentally.
