You know, the great part about Tarble is it makes total sense than no one mentioned him before then. Vegeta and his father thought he was a failure, so they exiled him and denied his existence. Vegeta would have never admitted Tarble was alive. He was just a weakling, after all. And by the time he underwent character development, he assumed he would never meet him again.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby! All this debate over a fan-character who is basically Vegeta's mom being portrayed as capable of intimidating both King and Prince when characters hundreds and even thousands of times more powerful than Chi Chi are still demonstrably afraid of her.
Toriyama brought this gag to Dragon Ball well before stupidoomdoodles decided to play with it.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Yeah, pretty
much. If I wanted to see characters I like being flanderized into barely-recognizable caricatures of themselves, I'll watch Teen Titans Go. AYO!
Anyway, real comedy is when everyone is in-character. The problem with "HAHAHA SO RANDOM" type humor is you could replace the characters it's using with anybody else and nothing changes.
@Chi-Chi scaring other characters: it's in-character for Roshi, Bulma, Yamcha and Krillin to be afraid of being chewed out by her. You don't see Piccolo, Vegeta, Buu etc caring. lol

"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."Good thing a sense of humor changes depending on the person.
That comic would've been funny if Vegeta was the little sociopath he is constantly portrayed as being at that age, and the comic writer did the necessary stuff to make it work. Staying true to characters, while playing it funny is the sign of great comedy. It's largely why YGOTAS is so derided, while DBZA (yeah, they turn the personalities up to 11 in most cases, but that's better than changing everything completely) is so lauded.
And from what I've seen you link, it's all "SO RANDOM" humor. But, you know, more power to that person since they're actually making content while I'm just here critiquing.
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."I mean, the franchise
has kinda portrayed Vegeta as a vain little shit before.
And, I mean.
Beautiful.
See? That scene works and is hilarious because it's not just a random gag. It was built up since the moment Vegeta got talked to by King Kai and we saw how desperate he was to keep Beerus from destroying Earth. He was in-character, and that's what made it hilarious. You could see the shame.

I was just reading that "science" story. For one, I haven't done biology for years, but I assume this person knew what they were talking about. It actually sounded cool. And yeah, using real-life logic, Saiyan hybrids wouldn't be able to have kids. If that was true in canon, it would have made Videl's announcement that she was pregnant in Battle of Gods even more amazing that it actually was. They practically won because of a miracle.

The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!I very much see Piccolo caring about what Chi-Chi has to say. Why else would he cave in and go get that driver's license, huh?
Either way, that comic wasn't lol-random humour. It's a -related joke (that Vegeta had some sort of authority figure reigning him in back when he was a child, a Saiyan version of Chi-Chi).
We should be chill about those kinds of jokes, instead of calling them "not real humour".
Oh, sons was a typo of mine. I meant to just say "son" because that information was either pre-Tarble (daizenshuu) or talking about the manga (interview).
I was just trying not to say Vegeta too many times to avoid confusion.
On Chi-Chi bossing stronger people around... you forget that Goku consistently ignores her, Gohan told her to shut up when she tried to boss him, and the human characters who are afraid of her are quite meek (or even weaker than her, like Bulma). Toriyama didn't write the stuff about her being "lol so scary".
In character humour is the best humour. Cru hit the nail on the head with how you can just replace the characters if the jokes are too far removed from their characterizations.
I won't say they're not real humour/comedy, but they are unfunny and boring.

Yeah, most of the stuff where Chi-Chi is the Vagina of terror is, well...filler.

Well, except that part in the Buu Saga where Goku doesn't offer Chi-Chi for the Elder Kai's...whatever he wanted. Doesn't he offer Bulma because Chi-Chi would kill him? (Not literally).
He probably respects his wife more than that, and remembers that Bulma tried to seduce him when he was twelve.
My various fanfics.I don't think Goku ever realized or would care that Bulma tried to seduce him when he was 12, and he certainly wouldn't hold it against her. For similar reasons, I don't think Goku even realized there was anything wrong with quasi-prostituting one of his friends. He's just not a very sexual creature.
If anything from those days contributed to his decision, it would be the precedent she set when she flashed Kamesennin in exchange for a Dragon Ball, but even that's not terribly likely.
