My dream Dragon Ball game is a Fighter with a huge roster and 90% original content based on which character you're playing as. Like, for example,
- Gohan campaign, where Ultimate Gohan defeats Super Buu and saves the world, with the game ending on one last friendly sparring match with Super Saiyan 3 Goku, passing the torch to Gohan as Earth's defender.
- Frieza campaign where Frieza's 100% Full Power defeats Super Saiyan Goku. He leaves the exploding Namek and travels to Earth, slaughtering his way through Earth's defenders, ending in boss fights with Super Saiyan Vegeta and Piccolo fused with God. However, the fusion between Piccolo and God renders the Dragon Balls inert. Frieza wins and ultimately destroys the Earth, but his immortality is forever lost to him.
- Yamcha campaign where the humans successfully defend Earth from the Saibamen, Nappa, and Vegeta. Yamcha takes over the Tenkaichi Budokai and turns it into the Yamcha Games, proving himself the strongest warrior on Earth, surpassing Goku, and ultimately facing off against a surprise challenger to his title: the arrival of Perfect Cell.
- Cell campaign where Super Perfect Cell defeats Super Saiyan 2 Gohan, but his decision to destroy the Earth is interrupted by the arrival of Babidi. With Babidi's assistance and on the promise of the ultimate battle, Cell raids the heavens for energy to awaken Majin Buu.
Etc. etc.
It would play fast and loose with the power levels of the characters, but the games already do that anyway.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I'd like to see a campaign in which one of the villains is forced by circumstance to be one of the good guys. They're still completely evil, but they have to work with the good guys, or else they'd die.
Like, I dunno, Dabura and Babidi being forced to cooperate with the Z fighters against Cell. (Cue Majin Gohan beating Cell and becoming an even bigger problem)
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariHow about a Raditz campaign where Raditz discovers the Dragon Balls' existence during the first with Piccolo and Goku rather than after? Realizing that his Scouter is transmitting the information, Raditz comes to the terrifying revelation that before long, the Earth will be facing a full-scale invasion by not only Vegeta and Nappa, but the forces of Lord Frieza as well.
Dreading the horror of an Immortal Frieza, Raditz undergoes a temporary Heel–Face Turn and together the Sons of Bardock attempt to mobilize Earth's defenders and train for the impending threats to come.
Possibility for redemption arc and Super Saiyan Raditz.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.If Raditz is intelligent, they'll compliment the Training from Hell by nearly-killing each other every time they have an available senzu. If they abuse their nature as saiyans, Raditz and Goku could legitimately turn out strong enough to give Freeza pause... at least until he transforms.
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariGoku would have a lot of catching up to do in a world without training from King Kai.
My various fanfics. And then Yamcha wakes up, right?
Also, we've had Raditz as a good guy before. But that was taking the Easy Amnesia route - although it was still a good story. Tenkaichi 3, Fateful Brothers.
Tobias those ideas are similar to how I'd handle story mode in my ideal game. I'd have it separated into three parts:
- The main, manga story. Raditz - Boo handled in a similar way to Budokai 1 with proper cutscenes.
- After beating the main story, you get the Time Machine capsule. This opens up the ability to return to specific parts and do things differently, unlocking new scenarios. Although I thought of this before Xenoverse was released, and Xenoverse portrays this as a bad thing. Oh well!
- Individual character campaigns. Each unlocked by meeting certain conditions in the time travel scenarios, as these are all what-ifs. These would include free roam like Budokai 3 as it would be easier to implement here than in the main story.
With Xenoverse I was also thinking of adding a fourth scenario to deal with created characters (I originally came up with this even before Ultimate Tenkaichi, so I hadn't allowed for them).
I guess they could also fit in the second scenario, with the player choosing when to insert their character like in Xenoverse. Or Xenoverse's story could be included (but abridged) and dicking around with the Time Machine leads to you getting drafted by the Time Kaioshin.
And finally, we need a story mode editor. I've actually seen it before, in a Rave Master game. That would have so much replayability.

That had both Raditz having a dream battle with Bardock and him sacrificing his life to kill Nappa and Vegeta and save his family.
You know, I just realized something. King Kai is the guardian/protector of the North Area, right? Now who is the guardian spirit who protects Kyoto from the north; the Black Tortoise/Turtle. Goku was training with another turtle. Also, the Black Tortoise is commonly depicted as entwined with a snake, and remember what leads to King Kai.

Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!
Dunno if this properly conveys my reaction but I feel like it's good enough

Why... how do they keep animating so many of these?
I can't have a remake of Yu Yu Hakusho, a second season of Deadman Wonderland, a conclusion to Spectacular Spider Man, or a version of Dragonball Kai with music I like.
But Dragonball Heroes and Naruto can have 15 different animated openings.
Damn it.
I don't want a remake of Yu Yu Hakusho. All I want from that franchise is a Budokai/Tenkaichi quality fighting game with a huge roster of characters from across the franchise's history, and I will have everything I need to enjoy it forever.
Guilty pleasure: I sometimes remake other shows/movies/comics/etc. in Tenkaichi using the Dragon Ball characters as stand-ins for other characters. I would do this in other fighting games such as Mortal Kombat, but somehow the DBZ games are among a rare and special few who understand that a 1P v. CPU versus mode should be a basic expectation of all fighting games everywhere.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I used to enjoy setting up CPU vs CPU fights. Unfortunately, the original Budokais' had this thing where the CPU-controlled character on the left usually wins 9/10 if you didn't utterly handicap them first.
YYH's anime was good (better, as some have told me that the manga's ending was terrible). I always wish though that we could just update the animation and retain the voice cast.
Naruto at least has a lot of episodes and filler arcs. Dragonball Heroes is a damn virtual card game that isn't available in the West. I thought it would die off a long time ago.

All I remember about Legacy of Goku is punching snakes and wolves. Forever.
