I just assumed Bulma had Trunks's tail removed shortly after he popped out. His mother is intimately familiar with the consequences of leaving the child's tail on him.

Cell had spent all the time everyone else was dicking around to eat more people, which made him more powerful.
My various fanfics.Even TFS mentions that Cell is still going around eating people while they're trying to hunt him down.
@Saiga
Which I can easily explain away by someone, maybe an editor or an assistant or a friend or whatever, coming up to him and going "Dood. Tails." and him going "Oh, yeah, tails..."
Of course, it relies on me making up excuses, but hey.
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariSo a conversation in the Fanfic thread, combined with the times it's been brought up in this thread (and even the Abridged thread) has me wondering:
What was the point of sending Yamcha, Tien / Tenshinhan, and Chiaotzu to King Kai / Kaiou Sama's planet when they were never going to do anything at all?
Obviously, Piccolo needed a way to get to Namek, which meant he needed to be able to communicate with them through King Kai, but if the other three were not actually going to do anything, what was the point of sending them there at all?
One Strip! One Strip!Toriyama has openly admitted to Writing by the Seat of Your Pants. The point of sending them to Kaio-sama's planet was to send them there. It created an opening that he could have built on in later events, and gave them something to do. Ultimately, he wound up going a different direction.

It's more like Toriyama would need a reason not to do it, and just not planning to do anything with them isn't reason enough because it's still something the characters would logically want to do even if they're not plot important.
I guess it makes sense that they will do it. I'll admit that.
Right, I won't lie. This comes back to the argument about my frustration over how the humans became irrelevant by Frieza.
But we've already identified why this happened (Frieza being too fucking strong, forcing Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo to take huge jumps to come close), so there's really nothing more to say.
The one who re-built Tao-pai-pai was Doctor Gero, as part of his first stage Androids
Makes sense doesn't it?
One Strip! One Strip!Android 8 and Major Metallitron existed during the Red Ribbon arc.

Gohan and Vegeta's tails both stopped growing back unaddressed. Goku's was only addressed in the Saiyan arc, where God said he'd remove it permanently during a flashback.
The tails are still mentioned in every arc but the Boo arc, where Toriyama planned to introduce them and then decided not to for whatever reason.
