Either that, or they learned to fully charge them quickly.

Well, didn't Piccolo not have to charge up the Special Beam Cannon for two minutes in subsequent uses?

You kind of missed the point of the example. I was talking about how the anime is completely inconsistent with how they use the techniques, and the specials are made from the same people so it's the same logic.

Well, that makes sense.

I've long believed there is no canon, has nothing to do with unnoun. I believe unnoun is more about not caring about continuity, which I'm the opposite.

I believe it was five minutes, but yes, he did.

Though I don't recall him using the canon all that much later on.

Piccolo does say he'd be able to charge faster with two arms, and seems to use a two armed version against Nappa. The anime and games all disregard this and have him use it one-armed in every other appearance it has, and the anime has it appear all over the place without ever being charged.

One of the video games also has Master Roshi use it for some reason.

[up][up] That wasn't a video game though, it was one of those things tied into that old phone thing, and it only happened in a scene during one of the many quizzes in the thing.

Wait, why didn't Piccolo just grow back his arm and then charge the attack?

[up][up] It was a video game. Weird little quiz things like those are still video games.

[up] It's exhausting for him. Even the 100x stronger Nail lost a lot of power regenerating one arm.

[up][up]I still think having two arms would be pretty useful in a fight.

[up] He wasn't in that fight any more though. And arguably not useful enough to counter the massive stamina drain. It's a moot point though, since he realised he needed to use the Makankosappo to have a chance, and so he needed to converse energy and stay out of the fight.

The game was a Terebikko game that was packaged as a VHS tape and a telephone peripheral.

Some of the questions though are just ridiculous, like Mecha Frieza being an option for the "Which one is Cell's Perfect Body?" question.

Actually, if anyone's interested, here's a link to the first part.

Mostly a direct result of being voiced by the same woman for the entirety of his life.

And in other news, even if you take the Anime without applying plentiful salt, the 'Final Flash' that Majin Vegeta used against Goku was nothing like the Final Flash he used on Cell. It's either a much more refined version with much less wastage of energy, and a much lower charge time, or it's a shadow of the original attack.

Given that the first time the Final Flash was used it was frikkin' HUGE, and the other it was about the same size as the blast Goku fired to counter it...

There's really no direct relation between the attack size and it's power. A small ball from someone stronger can be way more powerful than a giant one from someone weaker.

Depends on the AOE of the blast itself, usually.

Doesn't at all depend on the Ao E. Otherwise, the attacks in Battle of Gods are weaker than the ones from Namek, for example.

Not talking about power. Talking about size. A larger blast is more inefficient, in fact, since it probably wastes a lot of power in being showy, rather than concentrating it in one thick beam.

Or you could let Bulma answer the fucking question herself, you rude little shit Gohan.

God damn it Trunks, quite forgetting how your time travel works.

[up][up] While that's how energy would work realistically, that's never been a factor in Dragon Ball. It's largely incidental.

[up]x4 For what it's worth, in the manga the Final Flash is way more condensed when he is firing it and only expands when it hits Cell and directs it off the planet. In comparison, the anime beefed up the size of the technique from the get-go almost egregiously, but the aftermath is virtually identical to that of the manga.

Go figure. tongue
