Heh. I can't believe my post was 9001. That must be fate.
Truly, I am the greatest of Dragonball Fans.
One Strip! One Strip!Man, it'd be so much simpler if the Androids were just absorbed completely. Screw Kuririn and his boner subplot, the arc would've been better without it.
I agree and disagree with this.
I liked the Krillin's Boner subplot because it gave closure to his story. Krillin only started learning martial arts in the first place to impress women. Getting married was a good way to close out Krillin's role in the plot, because at this point, he's no longer strong enough to impact the story in any meaningful way, and the only reason for him not to retire is that he's still desperately lonely.
I do, however, agree that the androids should have been absorbed completely. 17 and 18 were going to be revived when Shenron brought back everyone Cell killed anyway; having Cell vomit up 18 accomplished nothing to service the plot except to motivate Cell to self-destruct, and the fact that he was already losing an unwinnable battle against Super Saiyan 2 Gohan is motivation enough for that.
Super Perfect Cell would be less ridiculous if he hadn't vomited up 18 too. The zenkai makes sense within the story's internal logic. Getting to have his Perfect Form back does not.

Actually, Bojack's gang seemed far, far weaker than a Cell Jr.
Trunks and Vegeta could kill those guys, no prob, while they got stomped by the Cell Juniors.
How the hell do you write the 'Jr.' abbreviation in plural?
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariIt's okay. Dragon Ball allows one to have enough fun to disregard the parts that don't make any sense.
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariI'm aware of why Kuririn started martial arts, but that was a bad motivation and I thought he grew out of it. The extremely immature way he behaves in the Android arc just makes him look terrible.
If not cutting it outright, the whole thing should've been changed so that he didn't immediately fall in love with Android 18 and obsess over her and instead was concerned about the humanity in Android 18 and 17. It's pretty clear that he doesn't give a single shit about 17 in the original, and he's acting like an idiot because a cute chick kissed him on the cheek.
Have him show compassion rather than just being selfish. That doesn't leave much room for developing their feelings for each other before the timeskip but on the other hand Kuririn's feelings were developed in a terrible way and 18's weren't hinted at at all. Might even be better not to build it up, just include some quick hints post-Cell before the timeskip.
I bought Krillin's sudden attraction because of the kiss on the cheek, on account of the fact that - ignoring that filler episode with Maron - despite having began studying martial arts to impress women, Android 18's peck on the cheek is the first gesture of romantic affection Krillin has ever received in his entire life.
Not for lack of trying either, given his crush on Upa. I seem to recall him flirting poorly with Bulma on the trip to Namek too, but my memory might be crossing Abridged and Manga by mistake.
Being desperately lonely was a part of Krillin's character from the moment we met him and after over a decade of getting absolutely nowhere with it, I can believe Krillin going from 0 to Take Me I'm Yours Forever after a single peck.

I mean, that's why Buu was a problem in the first place, wasn't it? Had Goku and Vegeta not done something incredibly stupid, IE, fight under Babidi's rules, Buu would've never been born.
Hell, if they hadn't followed the 'Rock Paper Scissors' order for their fights, Vegeta or Goku could've curbstomped Dabura.
Plus, there's also the implication that SSJ 3 Goku might've been enough to beat Fat Buu...
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariGoku also chose to allow Frieza to achieve his 100% Full Power, which is the exact same decision Super Vegeta gets so much scorn for. Nobody blames Goku, though, because it worked out better for him than it did Vegeta.
And let's not forget that Nappa and Vegeta would never have come to Earth if Piccolo hadn't felt compelled to taunt Raditz about the Dragon Balls in the latter's dying moments.
That most of this cast consists of sublimely selfish, morally bankrupt, irreparably arrogant people sort of goes hand in hand with the protagonists frequently making awful choices.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.It was said that Dabra wasn't damaging Gohan, which is why Vegeta and Goku weren't concerned. It's not like that would have lead to Boo being revived. Hell, Vegeta's insistence to jump in lead to Babidi controlling him.
The main problem is Super Saiyan 3 being retconned in. Before that, Goku was prepared to use Super Saiyan 2 to finish Vegeta, before he realised Vegeta had Super Saiyan 2 of his own. So Goku wasn't going to fuck around and hold back his strongest form to be even... until the Super Saiyan 3 retcon. I like Super Saiyan 3 but I can't really see a way to include it in that point of the story without making Goku look irresponsible.
The real problem is the reveal that Vegeta allowed his possession to happen, and Babidi wasn't controlling him. If Babidi's brainwashing was actually successful, then his actions wouldn't be stupid as he's Not Himself. Then he'd break free of the control shortly before he goes off to fight Boo.
Goku at least knew how strong the enemy he was facing would be, since Freeza was telling him the exact difference in his powers.
I recall that Trunks was able to beat that one dude One on one, but got overwhelmed when they worked as a team. Neither he or Vegeta killed any of them. Plus, they seemed to be a match for Full Powered Saiyans at the least. It's hard to tell, because they never really fight one on one against anyone who's not a fodder human.
As for people doing stupid things in Dragon Ball...... Do we all remember how well Bulma planned out her initial adventure?
Let's be honest with ourselves: everyone in this show....is stupid. Very very stupid, for one reason or another.
And on a final note:
Dr. Gero is the one who modified Tao Pi Pi.
Because he must have started the process of creating 17 and 18 somewhere right?
One Strip! One Strip!

Also, after thinking about it, I'm convinced that if the other Supreme Kais were alive today, they'd be around the same level as Cell (either pre-self bombing or post self bombing) which would put them at being maybe a little weaker than Super Saiyan 2.
The East Supreme Kai was the youngest, hence his status of being around the power of a Cell Jr. He was never received the full training as you might recall.
My guess is that back in their time, such power was rare, hence why they were the biggest dogs in the yard until Buu came along and roflstomped them.
The fact that they had other powers (like telekinesis and teleportation) also probably helped.
Hell, I'd put them around the same level as Bojack's gang maybe if you want to say that their fights against Buu were just filler, as that group seemed to be about as strong as Cell and his Cell juniors (which makes them still weaker than Super Saiyan 2 Gohan).
And that's my two cents.
