Lots of MMOs are implementing features like that. World of Warcraft added Transmogrification, where you could pay gold to alter an item's appearance to another one you owned without effecting stats - that way, you still needed to earn the super amazing cool guy to rock its appearance, and it was the biggest reason I got back into for a while (I only decided to stop playing when I needed to start full time work).
Rift has an even easier system - you can enable a second equipment screen, and one will use stats while the other uses appearances. You can have an item equipped in both screens even if you only have one of that item.
Shows off Vegetto and SSJ-4 GT Goku!
Also, for Dragon Ball Heroes... Legendary Super Saiyan Oozaru Broly!

And then Broly performed Namekian Fusion with Lord Slug, absorbed Super Android 13 to achieve his Perfect Form, and then raised himself to his 100% Full Power.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Make it 120% just so we can rip off Yu Yu Hakusho and make absolutely no sense.
Well, in Yu Yu it made sense because 100% wasn't the character's full power, merely the highest he had ever gone; their blatant Frieza clone got his strength from a magical wish, so even he had no idea what the full extent of his capabilities were.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Nnnnno that still doesn't make sense. He knew he could do more, so what he had wasn't 100%. It'd be something if that was 100% of his former power but that still makes what he says incorrect.
Also 120% isn't "100% over 100%" so he can't math at all either.
The English dub made a wise decision just to make him a lying liar who lies.

Yes, you are. It's already been established this thread doesn't like Broly, so its okay to ridicule any future appearance of the character. There are plenty of absurd, hypothetical transformations in Heroes. The moment Broly shows up, we get a 6-hit snark combo.
What are you talking about? Everyone's getting What If's in Heroes. They even brought back the Dead Zone henchmen and slapped an M tattoo on their foreheads and said "New forms!". Broly just got two new What If forms and a carry-over form from Raging Blast. Each of which is at least more, if not then just as sensible, as What If's like Baby Janemba or Majin Everybody which, again, is a thing in Heroes.

#IceBearForPresidentThere's nothing absurd about evil people falling under a "works on evil people" spell, except for timeline problems. Hell, same for Baby Janemba. And those timeline problems apply to Broli as well, given that Super Saiyan 3 was given the backstory of "Broli didn't die in the sun and became a Super Saiyan 3" despite the fact that he went to Hell, or Broli just being there for the Black Smoke Shenron to mess up. Then he doesn't meet the criteria for Super Saiyan 4 to begin with.
And none of the other what ifs got the attention he's getting.

Edit: Awkward pagetopper.
