I've also wondered for a while if Cell got infinite energy by absorbing the androids. Or perhaps double infinite.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersAdding new roles just for the sake of keeping characters relevant usually feels incredibly forced, which is exactly what Super is doing.
I'd argue Vegeta is a good example of that. They've billed him as the second main character of the overall franchise, but he's still doing the same thing he's always doing and differences are token at Best most of the time.
And 18 being sidelined just means Toriyama had no further use for her, nor did he feel the need to have more female fighters in general. It's sad to say, but most Shonen authors really don't try to write females beyond a supporting role while the focus is primarily on the males. Toriyama is no different.
The fact 18 beat a major character like Vegeta is remarkable in itself.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.![]()
I always figured that the infinite energy is precisely why Cell needs to absorb them.

This song needs more love.
Agreed, I got the idea that he was stronger, since he puts out a much better performance than SSJ Vegeta did against an android, but not like, he makes them obsolete stronger.

"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"Also, they missed a great opportunity at the end to just... have Future Trunks join the main timeline. Like, if you're going to have that terrible, terrible ending, just have him hop in the main team. I know we're stuffed with Saiyans, but let's face it, very few people are going to complain about FT - he's very unique and has a great backstory.
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"That's... really not fair, in my opinion. If nothing else, the TOP arc gave us a lot of pretty cool fight scenes (Jiren vs. Goku obviously, but also Dyspo vs. Hit, Dyspo vs. Freeza and Gohan, Goku vs. Kefla, Roshi vs. Ganos, U7 vs. U3, Gohan vs. Obuni)
No beer?! But if there's no beer, then there's no beef or beans!re: goku black arc: even disregarding the time travel (Which is a pretty major issue, regardless if you want to think about it or not) the arc is filled with people holding the Idiot Ball and really poor pacing. they do the same thing like three times before the plot goes anywhere (they go to the future, get their butt kicked, go back. go to the future, get their butt kicked, go back...). also literally no explanation as for why Goku Black keeps getting more and more powerful each time. they say that he keeps getting more powerful sure, but there's no reason why he keeps getting more powerful. and also he pulls out some weird ass powers out of nowhere.
and then it ends with all of the characters' actions meaning nothing because trunk's timeline gets destroyed anyway. yay.
bad saga.

"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-Mae18 vs Ribrianne, Buu vs Basil, Gohan vs Lavanda, Vegeta vs Toppo, Krillin vs Goku, Gohan vs Goku, 17 vs Goku, Vegeta and Roshi vs Magetta and Frost, Cabba vs Monna, Hit vs Jiren, Gohan and Piccolo vs Saonel and Pirina, this arc has been chock-full of awesome battles.

eh you're right. i'm not giving TOP enough credit. on the other hand we have shit like rape jokes and super inconsistent power levels and no one getting tired ever despite saying how tired they are. and jiren, despite being the main antagonist, doing nothing. so.
all those fights you listed were, like, really bad or mediocre or unmemorable imo, sans Buu vs Basil and only because it's the only time we've seen Buu fight in a LONG while.

I think it's best we ignore Super for this discussion
but yeah i thought that way too for a while. and all they had to do was say "oh, my infinite energy generator kept making energy and i wasn't using it, so it kept storing up inside me making me more and more powerful." instead of the nonsense they used for somehow being able to keep up with God level stuff.
