TFS makes it clear that he's still very much a villain in that time period. And for that, I'm very grateful, since the Fan Dumb usually portrays him as a Draco in Leather Pants even then.

Though they would be wrong to do so, seeing as Vegeta was more of an anti-hero at that point, since a) he's not killing large groups of people to get what he wants like he was on Namek, b) he's actually trying to protect the planet now, if only because it's his home now, which is best seen in how he aimed his Final Flash upwards to avoid destroying the Earth, something he wouldn't have even remotely cared about in the past, and c) the whole thing with Trunks dying shows that he at least has some compassion in him now, since he would have never reacted like that in the past. He's still a massive prick I'm not arguing on that, but he's still not as bad as he used to be.

Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!
They haven't gotten to the Final Flash or Trunks yet. They've only just introduced First Form Cell. So I wonder how they'll handle those moments...
But yeah, they really upped the "he's a complete asshole" factor.

Um.... he wasn't really fighting for Earth. He was fighting for his own ego (he wanted to be the one to kill Goku).
As for not aiming the Final Flash at Earth......he was kinda living there at the time. He didn't have much choice.
I mean, he kinda did the same thing way back when with his Galic / Garlic / whatever the fuck it's called Gun, but I'm gonna write that off as him being angry and crazy at the time, cause I'm not sure what he was gonna do once he blew up the planet he was on at the time.
One Strip! One Strip!I was totally thinking of that same thing.
Not the TFS version mind you, but still.
Edit:
It's Filler? Guess I should have seen that coming, but do we have any proof Vegeta wouldn't have done the same thing in the manga at the same point in time?

One Strip! One Strip! But we know he would don't we?
I mean, at that point, he still wasn't exactly an ally of Earth. It was all about his own ego, and everybody else was expendable.
We see how willing he is to kill others to get what he wants or accomplish a goal when Babidi Majins him one whole arc later, and there's a dead truck driver who can testify (after being revived of course) that being in Vegeta's general vicinity when he decides to kill something is a good way to end up as collateral damage.
One Strip! One Strip!Ok. But would he try to limit collateral damage?
Like say, not blowing up a truck that appears behind someone he's trying to shoot with an Ki blast?

One Strip! One Strip!What? Really?
Damn. I really do need to read more of the original manga, but still, I didn't expect that from Vegeta.
Alright then. We're done here.
One Strip! One Strip!Vegeta never really stopped being an evil, self-centered egotistical prick, he just retired from genocide after Frieza died and took up some new hobbies.

Actually, Truck Driver probably still does have something to say; in DB, the difference between the afterlife and the real world is that you have a halo, and you can't stay at your local Mcdonalds anymore.

At Super Perfect Cell. Reading really bad scans, but I can manage.
Gohan's transformation to SSJ 2 was awesome, yet again...Surprisingly sudden. I thought his speech just before the transformation about how he's not letting anyone get hurt again, but meh.
All the weight of Goku's sacrifice...Down the drain, when we see him and King Kai floating down Snake Way, with halos.
The Ki blast spam technique seems to be the most popular choice for Worf Barraging in the series. You know the villain won't buy what you are selling, when you pull one of these.

Truck Driver is now one of those puff balls the characters jog past on their way to the Check-In Station to let King Yema know they'll be staying for a few days.

Touche.
I've been having fun nitpicking like hell, even if I'm really having a damn good time, but one little moment that left me legit in hysterics; Cell proclaiming that he has enough Ki to destroy the solar system.
Puts into perspective how ridiculous the escalation got, and will keep getting. Solar system.
Solar system. The Saiyans must be freaking amazing at supressing their Ki, come Buu saga, since that's insane,

Funny how Ki Blast volleys are so utterly useless in the series proper but extremely helpful nearly everywhere else. They're a huge balance point in the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi series, the standard attack for spiritualist classes in Dragon Ball Online, and Goku's most powerful combo and spacing tool in Super Smash Flash 2note .

Yeah.
He was stupid, assholish, way too drunk on his own power, and arguably a whiny bitch.
Fortunately, he kept getting his ass kicked and knocked down a few pegs.
Then the Buu series came and he got a lot better.
