Some guy in that video's comments is bitching about "The awesome, genocidal badass warrior being a complete pussy now". Everyone is laughing at him.
Well, even Vegeta was freaked out by Beerus, and that was before he actually recognized him.
Like I said, the old Vegeta would have arrogantly challenged him, gotten stomped, and doomed the whole planet.
This is a huge thing for him, throwing away his pride for the greater good; something he would have been incapable of previously.
Plus, (even if you call it bullshit when he starts wailing away on Beerus), he does eventually say fuck it, and kicks some destruction god ass when Bulma gets hurt, which is also a far cry away from when he previously did nothing when Bulma almost died when she got too close to Dr. Gero back in the Android arc.
One Strip! One Strip! The important thing about that beatdown wasn't that it did nothing, but the fact that Vegeta was momentarily able to surpass Goku because of his rage over Bulma. Beerus even notes at the end of the movie that it's both Goku and Vegeta that should monitored and might be able to rival Beerus one day.
Plus, saying Vegeta did nothing against Beerus is kind of moot, when everybody jobs to him, even Goku in the end never beats him. It wasn't about beating Beerus, it was about proving he was worthy. Piccolo even notes it's more like a training exercise than an actual fight.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. The numbers are in, and Battle Of Gods made $2,201,569 from 692 screenings over the course of 3 days in the US, giving Battle Of Gods a grand total of $50,001,569 over the course of it's entire theatrical run worldwide.
That's pretty damn good considering how incredibly limited the screenings for the movie was in the US. But from what I've heard from all those who went to watch the film in theaters it was sold out practically everywhere and the in-theater experience was generally awesome.
Here's hoping the UK screenings are just as good!

Meh. Didn't mind it too much, plus it got an hilarious Call-Back in the ending .
Big-budget Hollywood superhero movies have spoiled me.
I had to look up other anime movies on boxofficemojo and recalibrate my expectations to understand why $50 million is hailed as an amazing amount of money for an anime movie. A superhero movie making that kind of money would be considered the kind of dismal failure that would utterly kill the franchise and leave executives reluctant to even touch it for at least a decade, but 50 million is actually really good for an anime film.

With it stealing another character's stick (rage boosts were always meant to be Gohan's thing, and he was the only one who got them before), contradicting Vegeta's NUMBAH WAN speech (he outright admitted that you can't just get stronger by trying to protect people) and being completely over-the-top (goes form doing absolutely nothing to smacking Beerus around and making him bleed, something Super Saiyan God didn't even do) I can't like it at all.
Besides, all it is is an extremely brief "LOOK VEGETA'S SO COOL" moment. But it really isn't. Vegeta's done much cooler things in battle, and even in this movie I was far more impressed with the lengths he'd go to protect his family by actively avoiding fighting than just plot punching continuity in the balls. I like his reaction to Bulma being struck, but I really don't like him powering up and laying a smackdown on Beerus. As funny as Goku's joke is at the end, it doesn't really make up for it.
Even for anime, it's especially good because Toei are really, really cheap. Less quality, more profit!
I still don't understand why people think Vegeta's performance in the movie is blatant favoritism, it's not. The man spent the first half-hour making himself look like a fool in front of all of his friends and family, jobbed to Beerus completely toying with him, and even after he manages to get a few good hits on Beerus, it all amounts to nothing since Beerus is completely fine afterwards before proceeding to knock Vegeta the fuck out with a finger point, with Vegeta looking on with terror; after that he's just a battery to allow Goku access to the Super Saiyan God form. Really, one badass moment for Vegeta just not override the previous 30 or so minutes of him humiliating himself in front of everybody.

Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!It's kind of a pattern in DBZ movies that Vegeta is badass for about five seconds and then does jack shit for the rest.

Ok? I dunno, when you put it that way, it just sounds like extreme nitpicking.
It was also already established that Vegeta would fly into a rage if he felt any of his loved ones were threatened, something he did against Cell(and with the same result). So I don't understand the notion that him going to fight Beerus for such a reason lessens his desire to protect his family.
Let's be fair here, Dragon Ball in generally just isn't kind to Vegeta; for every one of his achievements it gets undone by something he does stupidly.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. And all of those times he didn't get some bullshit power up out of it. It's not nitpicking, the whole scene flies against the series itself.
The scene was written by a self-admitted Vegeta fanboy, and that contributes to that quite a bit. And comparing that to all the humiliation is a bad argument because the humiliation is actually in favour of Vegeta as well - it showed how far he'd come as a character to go through all that. And I don't have a problem with that, that was done really well, but there was absolutely no need to throw him a power up bone at the end of that when preserving through it is a much richer reward for the character.

I missed the BoG airing period... fuck my inability to travel... >_<
